Newman has been released from Halifax Medical Center on Wednesday.
Newman received significant treatment in Halifax Medical Center following a major crash on the final lap of Monday's Daytona 500, and he's now been released on the third day of treatment. While Newman certainly appears to be making a tremendous recovery after suffering injuries which required him to be extracted from his car and transported by ambulance, it remains far too early to offer any supposition about a timetable for his return.

An emotional Gaughan spoke to the NASCAR media following the conclusion of Monday's 62nd annual Daytona 500. In what was the veteran's last 500, Gaughan was able to avoid any incident that would prevent him from finishing the event, including a horrific last lap crash that sent Ryan Newman to Halifax Medical Center afterwards, kickinthetires.net reports.

Newman remains hospitalized but Roush Fenway Racing announced Tuesday that "he is awake and speaking."
Newman was involved in a major crash on the final lap of the Daytona 500 on Monday. It was announced late Monday night that his injuries are not life-threatening. While it's a positive sign that Newman is talking to his family and doctors a day after the crash, it's far too early to predict any sort of timeframe for him to return to racing.
