Generally this article contains nine players, three at each position. With leagues coming to an end and champions being crowned in mere days and rosters pretty much set, I’m going to give you just two suggestions at each. May you become champions of your leagues!

10-Team Leagues

Adalberto Mondesí , KCR 2B, SS (59% ownership), FAAB Bid - $17 - With all leagues likely in their postseasons, Mondesi is one of the best players available in more than 40-percent of Yahoo! Leagues. He’s actually the number one ranked fantasy player over the past two weeks as he’s hitting .340 with 10 runs scored, three home runs, nine runs batted in and SEVEN stolen bases. The fact he can play both middle infield positions as well is huge. He’s a must own right now.

Michael Conforto , NYM OF (68% ownership), FAAB Bid - $15-17 - I’ve been trying to tell you for a few weeks that Conforto was looking very comfortable at the plate, more comfortable than he’s been in a while. His five home runs and 18 RBI over these past couple of weeks rank second and first across all of baseball. He now sits with 26 homers and 75 RBI on the year, with a real chance at 30 and 80 by seasons end. Conforto is someone that can help carry you to a fantasy championship.

12-Team Leagues

Shane Bieber , CLE SP (43% ownership), FAAB Bid - $11-12 - Over his last six outings, Bieber has gone 4-2 and has a boatload of strikeouts, simply contributing across the board. If we’re going to get Bieber contributing across the board, he’s a must own. He’s a bit inconsistent at times which is why I don’t have him listed under 10-team pickups. He’s actually been quite unlucky this season as he may have a 4.50 ERA but has a 3.29 xFIP. He’s a nice SP3/4 to own for the playoff run.

Joc Pederson , LAD OF (19% ownership), FAAB Bid - $10-11 - Manager Dave Roberts has reverted back to his ways from earlier the season and has been using Pederson in the leadoff spot. It’s paid dividends as he’s hit .306 with four homers over the past two weeks. He now has 23 bombs on the year and because of the power, he’s viable in 12-teamers and if you’re desperate in the home run category I understand the merit for 10 teamers as well.

15-Team Leagues

Josh James, HOU SP, RP (6% ownership), FAAB Bid - $7 - James picked up his first professional win this past week firing 5.1 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. The 25-year old rookie has allowed just five earned runs over his first 16 innings which has translated to a 2.81 ERA. He’s been elite in the strikeout department punching out 24 opponents over those aforementioned 16 innings. If you’re looking for a cheap source of strikeouts that’s still unowned in essentially every Yahoo! League, this is your guy.

Alex Gordon , KCR OF (13% ownership), FAAB Bid - $7 - Although he hasn’t hit a homer over his last two weeks, he’s been one of the best run producers in the league as his 12 over that span rank fourth in the entire league. He’s also swiped three bags over that span as well, giving him 12 on the year. Gordon’s in double-figures in homers and stolen bases and although those numbers don’t necessarily move the needle, he’s still solid for the stretch run in 15-team formats.
