Juuse Saros made 30 saves on 34 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to Arizona on Friday in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers.

Saros played in all four games for Nashville and he only came away with one victory, as the Coyotes eliminated the favored Predators in four games of the best-of-five series. David Satriano of NHL.com expects Quinton Byfield to debut with the LA Kings this season.

Byfield (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) has the physical tools to make an immediate impact in the NHL, but it will depend on LA's plan for the second-overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. "Physically, I think he has the ability to step in the NHL with his size and his skating ability," Kings general manager Rob Blake said in October. "Those players that are drafted in that type of level, there's always that type of look at them to see if they project to be in the NHL as soon as next year. Physically, his size would do that, but there's a lot more that goes into it." Byfield has said that he will not report to the Kings' camp until the World Junior Hockey Championships have concluded (scheduled from Dec. 25, 2020 to Jan. 5, 2021). Initial reports had the NHL wanting to start on Jan. 1 but that is far from a guarantee. Byfield is worth a spot at the end of your bench to start the season.

Filip Zadina scored his sixth goal in 11 Czech Extraliga games on Sunday.

Zadina has 10 points with HC Ocelari Trinec this season. Coach Jeff Blashill believes Zadina has been growing more confident and he is looking forward to seeing the 21-year-old forward prove himself at the NHL level in 2020-21.

John-Jason Petereka racked up eight points in two games this weekend in the ICEHL for EC Salzburg.

Peterka potted two goals and added an assist in a 10-2 win over the Graz99ers on Sunday after he picked up five helpers in a 5-3 victory on Friday against Hydro Fehervar AV19. He has produced five goals and 14 points in 11 matches Austria's top league. The 18-year-old forward is slate to play for Germany at the upcoming World Junior Championship and the Sabres hope to have him join EHC Red Bull Munchen in January.

Evander Kane has challenged YouTube star Jake Paul to a boxing match.

Kane tweeted on Sunday that it's "easy to beat up guys with no experience and much smaller" following Paul's boxing win over ex-NBA player Nate Robinson on Saturday night. The bout took place on the undercard of the Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr main event. Paul called out UFC fighter Conor McGregor afterward, which led to Kane and Vegas goalie netminder Robin Lehner issuing challenges of their own to the YouTuber.

Victor Hedman took on more of an offensive role with Steven Stamkos out of the lineup in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Hedman won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs, scoring 22 points in 25 games. "With Stammer being out, you need production from somewhere else," Hedman said. "I really thought about it during the pause. What can I do to improve my game? Offensively, that was shooting the puck a little bit more. You create some chaos and open up space for all the guys to make play. That was a big, big thing I thought about during the pause was, I can shoot the puck a little bit more. Be more of a threat from up top and join the rush to find openings. That was a big thing I thought, and be as good as I could five-on-five and on the penalty kill as well. Don’t get scored on, get in as much offense early on." Look for another big season from Hedman who is a top-three defenseman in fantasy as well as the NHL.

Vancouver GM Jim Benning was obviously pleased with the way Thatcher Demko played in the playoffs and is looking for more in 2020-21.

Demko was spectacular in his three games against Vegas as the Golden Knights were up 3-1 in the best-of-seven series when Jacob Markstrom was injured, forcing a young Thatcher Demko into the starting role. Demko gave up two goals on 125 shots in the three contests, winning the first two but losing the decisive Game 7 3-0 in which Vegas scored a pair of empty net goals. “I think it showed not only me, but it showed his teammates and coaches, our fans and the media, that he is the guy we thought he could turn out to be,” Benning said. “We believed that’s what he was capable of, but to actually see it for three games and for everybody else to see it, I think it was fantastic...He’s a hard-working kid that wants to be really good. With goalies, we understand it takes longer to develop. From a development standpoint, we’ve tried to do everything the right way with him. And we feel he’s now knocking on the door to be a No. 1 goalie in the league.” Stay tuned as Demko will battle former Washington netminder Braden Holtby for the top job in Vancouver.

Kyle Dubas said on Saturday that defenseman Morgan Rielly offered to move down to the second power play last season to help get Tyson Barrie going.

That's a teammate and a leader! Barrie struggled after a trade from Colorado and Rielly thought playing with Tavares, Matthews and Marner on the first power play unit would help. "He started the year off and did one of the most selfless things that I have seen," Dubas said about Rielly. "In mid-November, he was on the first power play, and we had acquired Tyson Barrie the summer previous. Tyson got off to a fairly slow start with us — he hadn’t produced and hadn’t scored — and as someone who was facing unrestricted free agency in the new year, in a new city with a lot of expectations on him, he started to really struggle. Morgan, when Sheldon (Keefe) came into the job, went to Sheldon and said he would have no problem, if it was what was best for the team, going to the second power-play unit to put Tyson on the first unit so that Tyson could get going. If we were going to reach our potential, everyone felt it was important that Tyson played the way we knew he was capable of playing. I just thought that spoke so much to the character of Morgan Rielly and everything that he is about. About a month and a half later, he sustained a really bad injury — a broken foot on a blocked shot in Florida — and he had also been dealing with an injury in the first half of the season before he was hurt, which had kind of slowed him down. On any team, you need players like that who are willing to put the team ahead of themselves. I thought, with Morgan Rielly, he has always done that here. When he came back and was fully healthy against Columbus, it was great to see him back at full bore — the way we all knew him to be. As a manager and a coach, you are always rooting, if you have players on your team that are so selfless in their actions, for them to ultimately have success. I think everybody does on the team does as well. We are really excited to see Morgan next year back and firing on all cylinders throughout the entire season."

The Los Angeles Kings ranked 30th in goals-per-game last season.

Los Angeles scored 2.53 goals-per-game in 2019-20. Anze Kopitar lead the team in goals with 21 in 70 games, but the Kings need someone else to pick up the slack behind him. Tyler Toffoli, who is now with the Montreal Canadiens, finished second with 18 goals in 58 contests. Only the Detroit Red Wings scored less goals-per-game than the Kings. They also ranked 30th in five-on-five shooting percentage, which makes sense considering how little they scored last season. The Kings will continue their steady rebuild in 2021.
