Jake Guentzel is feeling good in training camp after missing a big chunk of the 2020 campaign.
Guentzel was limited to 39 games, though because the NHL playoffs got pushed back, he did end up participating in the NHL's 2020 Return to Play. The Penguins ended up being ousted quickly though, so Guentzel didn't get to spend much time reunited with his teammates before they all went their separate way. Now he's back for training camp though and ready for the upcoming campaign. “I feel a lot more confident with the extra recovery time,” Guentzel said. “I feel stronger, I feel more confident. I don’t really think about (the injury) anymore now that I have some games under my belt. Just a confidence thing with it and how long it’s been. I’m ready to go.” Guentzel is projected to serve on the top line with Sidney Crosby and play on the first power-play unit. Jan 07 11:24 am (EST)
