Jordyn Tyson was selected by New Orleans in the first round (8th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Arizona State and enters his first professional season as a highly anticipated rookie receiver. He is a dynamic playmaker with the speed to threaten defenses downfield and the route-running ability to create underneath as well, though he arrived with a lower-body injury history that included multiple hamstring issues and a sprained ankle limiting him to nine games at Arizona State in 2025. The Saints still invested significant draft capital in him to be Tyler Shough's outside complement.
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Tyson's rookie season is starting on the sideline. He suffered a hamstring injury in an August joint practice against the Jaguars, and the team announced he is expected to miss around two months, which puts a realistic return date around Week 5 against the Vikings and makes him a strong candidate to open the year on injured reserve. Head coach Kellen Moore said this strain is unrelated to the hamstring problems that limited Tyson to nine games at Arizona State in 2025, but it is now his fourth documented hamstring injury and sixth lower-body injury in four years, which is exactly the risk teams were accepting when they used a top-10 pick on him. Chris Olave remains the clear WR1 in his absence, with Devaughn Vele and the rest of the receiver room absorbing the early-season targets. Tyson is consensus WR34, but that ranking assumed he would be on the field in September. He is now a wait-and-see dynasty stash whose redraft value should be discounted for missed time, not a player to lock into your Week 1 lineup plans.
