2025 Season Recap
Omarion Hampton's rookie season was a frustrating one. He missed seven games with a foot injury and rested in Week 18 to prepare for the playoffs, but in the nine healthy games he played, he looked like exactly the every-down back the Chargers drafted him to be. He scored at least 14.7 PPR points five times in those nine games and showed legitimate RB1 upside when the situation was right. The injury was the only thing that kept 2025 from being a true breakout year.
2026 Fantasy Outlook
This is one of our favorite picks in the first round. Hampton enters his second NFL season as the consensus RB8, and new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel compared him to Terrell Davis, which is quite the endorsement from a coordinator who has spent his career unlocking elite running backs. Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater are both healthy again on the offensive line, and Justin Herbert with a full season behind a healthier offensive line gives the Chargers' offense a real downfield threat to keep defenses honest. If Hampton stays healthy for a full season in McDaniel's system, we are talking about a top-three RB finish. The injury history from Year 1 is the only real flag. Draft him and trust the process.
