2022 Player Outlook

Like many players who come from Alabama, John Metchie didn't break out until his last season there due to the enormous depth the school has on its roster. Even in his third season, Metchie played second fiddle to Jameson Williams, but he still produced as a secondary option. In 2021, Metchie accumulated 1,142 yards on 96 receptions and found the end zone 13 times. He, unfortunately, tore his ACL in the SEC Championship game against Georgia, so he will likely not be ready to start at the beginning of the 2022 season. When he does return to the field, he could be an intriguing option, as Houston will likely be in negative game script situations the majority of the time, giving Metchie plenty of opportunity for fantasy success.
