Manning finished the season with passable cosmetic stats -- 4,299 yards (7.5 YPA), 21 passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions -- but a look under the hood tells a different story.
Manning took 47 sacks (10th in the NFL) and lost 358 yards (6th) while also fumbling seven times. In other words, he got nailed for huge losses like many scrambling quarterbacks do without making up for it with positive gains. His touchdown total on the 10th-most attempts (576) in the league was also disappointing, given the ample skill-position talent the Giants had on hand. Per OverTheCap.com, the Giants could save nearly $17 million in cap space if they cut him before June 1, but as of now, the team hasn't indicated whether it plans to bring Manning back for another season.
