Rui Hachimura got back on track vs. the Knicks on Tuesday with 12 points (4-of-6 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 29 minutes.
Progress. Rui was a combined 0-of-14 from the field in his previous two games, but coach Scott Brooks’ confidence in the rookie never wavered. He made it a point to get Rui going early and that’s exactly what happened as he scored six points in the opening four minutes. The minutes and touches are going to be there for Rui even on his worst day, and while he’s going to be a solid source of points, rebounds and even a handful of assists, his upside will be limited until he shows improvement in steals (0.9), blocks (0.1) and triples (0.5).
