Danny Green said on The Ringer NBA Show that he thinks LeBron James and other players might sit out the first month of the season if the proposed Dec. 22 start date holds up.
"If we start in December, I think most guys [are like] 'I'm not going to be there," Green told Logan Murdock. "To have that quick of a restart, I wouldn't expect [LeBron] to be there for the first month of the season." Some players would rather start the season on Jan. 18 (MLK Day), which would give them an extra month to get ready, but that could also mean a 50-ish game season instead of the proposed 72 games for a Dec. 22 start. Either way, LeBron is now 36 years old and may have gotten a lot of help last season by missing the playoffs the previous year, as well as the massive Covid-19 break in March. Hopefully we'll have an answer on when the season will start rather soon, but if it does happen just before Christmas, a lot of guys, especially the over-30-crowd, could be taking some early time off.
