Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) will not be ready for the start of the season as he continues to recover from left knee surgery according to Grizzlies EVP of basketball operations Zach Kleinman.
This doesn't come as a major surprise, given the shortened offseason and the fact that Jackson Jr. underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in mid-August. Kleinman didn't give a specific timetable Wednesday night, simply saying that the star power forward will "be out a minute." Jackson Jr. should still be selected early in fantasy drafts regardless of format because of what he brings to the table. But it would be wise to select Brandon Clarke as well, since he's the player most likely to benefit. Jonas Valanciunas' fantasy value also receives a boost with this news. Nov 19 10:32 am (EST)
