2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Dominant. That's one word to explain Graterol's 2023 season where he posted a 1.20 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and seven saves across 68 total appearances. It was great in reality for the Dodgers, but a lower strikeout rate capped his overall upside. For setup men to be useful for fantasy, your fantasy league needs to value holds, or that particular reliever needs to be excellent across the board for your ratios (K%, ERA, and WHIP). Graterol would have been the next man up for saves, so that would have helped him, too, but the lower strikeout rate didn't do anyone any favors. His sinker headlines his arsenal, and he generates a ton of ground balls, peaking at least year's career best 66 percent!

2024 Outlook: Without above-average swing-and-miss stuff, could that be Los Angeles' hesitation to put him in the ninth inning role? Perhaps. I'd expect some regression in 2024 for Graterol, as his ERA will be closer to 3.00 than last year's 1.20 mark, and he'll largely be used in the eighth inning role for the team. He'll see some saves here and there, but he isn't the Dodgers reliever to prioritize in drafts.
