Eifert's (ankle) one-year contract with Cincinnati includes a $1.2 million signing bonus and $1 million base salary, along with $1.3 million in per-game roster bonuses and up to $2.5 million in incentives, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The unusual breakdown makes sense given that Eifert has played just six games the past two years and 43 total through six NFL seasons. It also makes sense for the Bengals to invest in another option at tight end, with C.J. Uzomah landing a three-year, $18.3 million contract that includes $6.25 million fully guaranteed (per overthecap.com). While history suggests he'll have a tough time staying on the field, Eifert does seem to be on track for some level of involvement in the offseason program, as he resumed jogging by early January and was doing agility work by the end of February. None of that should come as a surprise given that he's now more than five months removed from a Sept. 30 ankle surgery with an estimated recovery timeline of 4-to-5 months. Eifert owns career marks of 12.1 yards per catch and 8.4 per target, with 21 touchdowns on 142 receptions -- per-play efficiency has never been the problem.

The Cowboys are engaged in discussions to acquire Quinn from the Dolphins, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

The rebuilding Dolphins essentially made a bet that Quinn would have trade value when they paid him a $1.1 million roster bonus last week instead of cutting him. They appear to have been correct, with Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reporting that the Saints also have shown interest. The pass rusher will turn 29 in May and is coming off a 2018 season with 38 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 16 games. Quinn had 40 sacks in a three-year stretch from 2012 to 2014, but he's dropped off to 24 in 48 games the past four years.

Fournette appears to have the support of Jaguars executive vice president Tom Coughlin, who expects the running back to rebound in 2019, ESPN.com's Michael DiRocco reports. "I have full confidence in him," Coughlin said. "He does have some things he's got to prove when he comes back about his preparation, but he's a young player, he loves football, had an outstanding year, had a very disappointing year. We want him to be a great player and I think he's in the same mindset."

Despite showing up for training camp at a svelte 223 pounds, Fournette struggled through a tumultuous sophomore campaign, putting on weight while he missed six games with a hamstring injury. He finished the year with just 3.3 yards per carry in eight games, missing Week 13 due to a suspension and Week 17 due to an ankle injury. His suspension prompted the Jaguars to void the guarantees in his contract, while his obvious disinterest in watching the season finale was met with harsh public criticism from Coughlin. The 24-year-old is filing an appeal to regain his contractual guarantees, but at the same time he's reportedly making an honest effort to repair his relationship with the Jacksonville organization. Fournette met with Coughlin to clear the air shortly after the season and later traveled to Wyoming to work with his former strength and conditioning coach from LSU. With fellow running backs Carlos Hyde (Chiefs) and T.J. Yeldon (free agent) headed elsewhere, the Jaguars seem confident in Fournette to serve as the top weapon in an offense quarterbacked by Nick Foles.

Cook remains unsigned after visiting with the Saints last week, Sheil Kapadia of The Athletic reports.

While no other visits have been reported, Cook surely is drawing interest from multiple teams as the top tight end on the market. A return to Oakland also would make sense given that the Raiders haven't lined up a replacement. Heading into his age-32 season, Cook should sign a contract soon enough.

Burfict (concussion) is scheduled to visit with the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Released by Cincinnati on Monday, the 28-year-old linebacker quickly lined up a potential reunion with Raiders defensive coordinator Paul Guenther, who held the same position in Cincinnati from 2014 to 2017. Given his poor play in 2018 along with his lengthy history of concussions and suspensions, Burfict isn't likely to find much in the way of guaranteed money. He would at least have a decent shot to win a starting job in Oakland, where the competition consists of Tahir Whitehead, Nicholas Morrow, Marquel Lee and Jason Cabinda -- an underwhelming group to say the least.

Bennett said he doesn't plan to come out of retirement, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bennett hinted at a return to football after his brother was traded to the Patriots, but he's now making it clear that his focus is on his company, The Imagination Agency. The 32-year-old tight end struggled with injuries in 2017 and didn't play in 2018.

The Vikings are working to re-sign Siemian, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports

Head coach Mike Zimmer has noted his desire to have a veteran quarterback as the main backup to Kirk Cousins. Last season, Siemian made $1.9 million as the No. 2 quarterback and did not log a snap all season. The Vikings also have Kyle Sloter on the roster, but his inexperience could be reason for concern.

Verner announced via his Instagram that he has officially retired from the NFL.

Verner hasn't played in the league since 2017 and he ends his career with 371 solo tackles, 74 passes defensed, 15 interceptions and seven forced fumbles. A Pro Bowler in 2013, Verner spent his first four seasons with the Titans before spending the next for years with the Buccaneers and Dolphins.
