Jamahal Hill vs Khalil Rountree Jr. | 7800/8400 | - | Stackability: Low | 110/ -200 | #N/A |
Former title challengers clash in a battle this week as they both look to get another shot at the belt. Rountree just had a good performance in a loss against Alex Pereira but he did end up getting KO'd in the 4th Round. Hill looked like his chin may be gone against Jiri in his last fight, but he'll still have a speed advantage here that could be the difference. If this fight gets into the championship rounds it should majorly favor Hill, but Rountree has more than enough power to KO him if he lands early. If I didn't have to watch Hill vs Jiri and see that Hill's chin may be gone, I would line this fight as Hill -250 strictly off of the skillsets both men have, but that chin is going to be the major question. I'll lean towards Hill as the dog on DK but this is going to be a high variance fight where one guy looks like he should have been -800 depending on how the fight plays out. |
Expensive UFC DFS Picks
Expensive | |||||
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Curtis Blaydes | 9100 | Rizvan Kuniev | Somewhat-Safe | -270 | Â |
Blaydes will always be a top play for me only because his upside is 130pts in a decision win which not many fighters can offer. When he faces the top power punchers in the division he can be KO'd, but outside of guys like Aspinal and Pavlovich he has shown he can be durable. He should be able to outwrestle Kuniev from the opening bell, unless Kuniev started taking his "supplements" again.
Tagir Ulanbekov | 9300 | Azat Maksum | Somewhat-Safe | -395 | Â |
He's another guy who when at his best he can score 100+ in a decision victory and this is a step back in competition for him. He tends to fight too closely, but this is a good matchup for him and he should be able to get multiple takedowns.
Nazim Sadykhov | 9400 | Nikolas Motta | Somewhat-Safe | -470 | Â |
I don't love Nazim, he has been losing some of the fights that he comes back to wins but I think he is still developing while Motta is a finished product. Nazim should be able to outwork him, and training with Merab and Aljo we know he has wrestling in his back pocket if needed. He should be able to win a clean decision especially if he uses the wrestling.
Oban Elliott | 9500 | Seokhyeon Ko | Moderate | -485 | Â |
Both of these guys can wrestle a little bit but Elliott is better. I expect him to be a little bit ahead everywhere, but my only problem is sometimes he gets into a snoozefest where he just outpoints his opponent so a win with 70 significant strikes and 1-2 takedowns isn't going to be great as the highest priced fighter on the card.
Melissa Mullins | 9000 | Daria Zhelezniakova | Moderate | -278 | Â |
Mullins can wrestle and that is where she should have the advantage here. She is one of the rare WMMA fighters who has a good chance to end the fight inside the distance and if she does it is probably a ton of damage over time so she'll score well. |
Mid-Range UFC DFS PicksÂ
Mid-Range | |||||
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
JunYong Park | 8700 | Ismail Naurdiev | Moderate | #N/A | Â |
This is another week where the mid-range is pretty week so I'm expanding it up to $8800. Park is a good wrestler and is going to go to war for your money so while he is around +200 to win inside the distance he can still score well at this price. I'll be focusing on stars and scrubs builds this week but Park is my favorite in this range.
Myktybek Orolbai | 8500 | Tofiq Musayev | Moderate | -166 | Â |
Orolbai is strong and durable but has low fight IQ. At his best he can get close to double digit takedowns but he has to stick with the gameplan to score well. I don't trust him to win as much as some of the higher priced fighters, but if he does it will involve some wrestling so he has a high ceiling.
Ignacio Bahamondes | 8200 | Rafael Fiziev | Somewhat-Risky | -125 | Â |
This fight is tough for me to pick a winner but I'm going to go with the younger, bigger fighter. Bahamondes is going to be 4-5 inches taller and have the same reach advantage so he should be able to pick him apart from the outside. If Fiziev wrestles he might be in trouble but Fiziev doesn't like to lean on it as much as he should so it should be a standing war. If he can keep Fiziev at distance he should win a decision, and if he can land one of his wheel kicks the KO should be there as well.
Muhammad Naimov | 8800 | Bogdan Grad | Somewhat-Risky | -250 | Â |
Naimov could win this fight but he has a tough test in Grad. If you can't deal with non stop pressure Grad is someone who can break you, and with Naimov being low volume I'm worried he just gets outworked. I likely won't be on Naimov this week,.
Mohammed Usman | 7600 | Hamdy Abdelwahab | Somewhat-Risky | 142 | Â |
I hate this fight. It's a heavyweight fight that is likely going the full 15 minutes. If you can't get the finish at heavyweight it is tough to score well so I'll go with the underdog. Hamdy is the master of winning split decisions so I expect him to get the nod if it's close, but using him in a lineup at $8600 to score 65-75 pts isn't going to win a tournmenet.
Tofiq Musayev | 7700 | Myktybek Orolbai | Somewhat-Risky | 140 | Â |
Tofiq isn't a young prospect but he is a local fighter so I expect him to get some hype. He is going to have to worry about the wrestling of Orolbai so it could be tough for him to pick and choose his shots. His best chance for a win is an all out blitz so I'm viewiing him as a high ceiling play. |

Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Bogdan Grad | 7400 | Muhammad Naimov | Somewhat-Risky | 205 | Â |
I for some reason love Grad this week. He isn't technical but he can outwork his opponents. Early in the fight this could be a tough fight for him but the later it goes the more I think his relentless pace takes over.
Rizvan Kuniev | 7100 | Curtis Blaydes | Somewhat-Risky | 220 | Â |
Blaydes can be KO'd and while I like Blaydes a lot this week, the only way I see Kuniev winning is by KO. High ceiling low floor KO or bust play.
Nikolas Motta | 6800 | Nazim Sadykhov | Risky | 360 | Â |
Motta has power and Sadykhov can be clipped. Motta is a low volume striker so he probably gets outworked, but in all of his fights he flashes his power so I expect him to land clean at some point again.
Seokhyeon Ko | 6700 | Oban Elliott | Risky | 370 | Â |
Ko has power, and is the cheapest fighter on the card. Elliott is another favorite who can be outworked, and while I don't expect Ko to come out and land 100+ significant strikes, we are in a small foreign commision so if the fight stays close the scoring by the judges could be all over.
Azat Maksum | 6900 | Tagir Ulanbekov | Risky | 310 | Â |
He's going to get taken down, but sometimes Tagir falls in love with his striking. He is coming in on short notice but sometimes that can work in the favor of the underdog since they can fight with a "nothing to lose" approach.
Daria Zhelezniakova | 7200 | Melissa Mullins | Risky | 225 | Â |
Mullins is going to be too physically strong for Daria, but Mullins has been hurt to the body before. If she lands clean to the body there is a chance she can drop Mullins, but that isn't the type of skill that I bank on.
Klaudia Sygula | 7300 | Irina Alekseeva | Risky | 220 | Â |
Similar to Daria I think she is going to be outmuscled in this fight. She is a little behind on both striking and wrestling so I don't see her having a path to victory regardless of where the fight goes. |
