MMA DFS Playbook Top Picks
Spend Ups:
Zachary Reese ($9200) - Coming in off a big win in June versus Julian Marquez, Reese gets a debuting Jose Medina as a losing fighter from DWCS. The height and reach difference should be noticeable again, leading to a duplicate R1 KO win.
Edmen Shahbazyan ($9000) – The still young and battle-tested Shahbazyan gets this chance to prove himself and take a step closer to being a ranked contender. GM3 is as well a known commodity as there is in the UFC and read here is the lack of threat from his striking D to find his range and get R2 TKO.
Midrange:
Nathan Fletcher ($8400) – TUF Finale pick is a wildcard but the fight tape lends towards Fletcher dominating with takedowns and top control. He will need to survive Ramaska’s striking burst but should work his way to multiple takedowns and a solid scoring decision win.
Robert Valentin ($8400) – A second TUF Finale wildcard but again the fight tape offers a ceiling finish. Valentin stands tall and is hittable in that typical way, but he has cardio and durability. Loder will look to wrestle, and the pick is for Valentin to find a knee to change the fight instantly for a R2 KO.
Spend Downs:
Jared Cannonier ($ 7600) – In a card lacking for underdogs, Cannonier is the pick to win a five-round decision. The numbers do not favor a ton of DFS scoring, but Cannonier’s defensive prowess and striking will keep the fight standing more than expected. We simply have not seen Borralho tested with this quality of fighter despite the Fighting Nerds momentum.
Dennis Buzukja ($ 7400) – He will be the chalky dog due to the fight odds, but the matchup sets up well enough anyways. Buzukja has stayed active and looked better with his hands. Similar to the Shahbazyan fight, Buzukja will have less to worry about on his feet with Marshall who will need to maintain a wrestling pace as a short-notice replacement. Buzukja by decision, but a late finish is possible when Marshall tires out.
