You won’t want to miss UFC 302 this Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey! The action kicks off with Early Prelims at 6:00 PM EST on ESPN+, followed by Prelims at 8:00 PM EST on ESPN2/ESPN+, and the Main Card on ESPN+ PPV at 10:00 PM EST.

In the main event, Islam Makhachev defends his 155 lb title against Dustin Poirier, who's looking for another shot at the undisputed title; he’s mentioned possible retirement if he doesn't win. The co-main event features former Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland taking on Paulo Costa in what promises to be an intense battle.

UFC 302 Best Bet - Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier: Makhachev By Submission +100

Makhachev is going to get this fight to the ground at some point, and for a -600 fighter to have his preferred path to victory only be +100 I think it is pretty good value. I think the line on the fight is a little wide, so I don’t think playing Makhachev straight up is really an option.

UFC 302 Prediction - Sean Strickland vs. Paulo Costa: Strickland By Decision +175

Costa has been extremely durable outside of his one fight with Adesanya, so I don’t see an early KO coming from either of these fighters. Strickland has gone five rounds multiple times and I expect him to get stronger as the fight goes on. A late finish is in play, but I think Strickland at +175 by decision is the most likely outcome.

UFC 302 Parlay - Holland ML + Brown ML: +105 Odds

This is a major step down in competition for Holland, so I expect him to deal with Michal fairly easily, especially if he gets his wrestling going. I’m also going to be betting Holland by R2/3 since I think he’ll control the fight more the longer it goes.

Brown has had his ups and downs in the UFC, but I think in terms of volume and reach in this matchup, he should be able to control it. He is also the better wrestler if he needs to level change for any reason.

UFC 300 Best Bet At Long Odds: Phil Rowe By Submission +800

I don’t think Rowe is the better wrestler, but I think he has superior submission skills. He isn’t someone who constantly shoots takedowns but if it’s there he will pursue the submission. He enters a ton of grappling matches and while he hasn’t been very successful against the likes of Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones, he has enough skills to pull off a submission in this matchup.
