UFC 333 takes place this weekend from Abu Dhabi, with two championship fights headlining the card. Alexander Volkanovski looks to turn away the undefeated Movsar Evloev in a stylistic clash as Evloev looks to use his control and wrestling to nullify Volk’s striking. Petr Yan will be trying to beat Merab Dvashvili for a second consecutive time as he tries to stifle the pressure and wrestling that Merab has used to defend the title multiple times.

The event streams live on Paramount+ in the United States, with early prelims beginning at 10:00 AM ET, prelims at 12:00 PM ET, and the main card getting underway at 2:00 PM ET.

UFC 333: Volkanovski vs Evloev Predictions

Alexander Volkanovski vs Movsar Evloev

Pick: Alexander Volkanovski

Volk is someone who has been written off more times than any champion that I can remember. His defensive wrestling his fantastic, his striking is diverse, and his cardio is legendary. Movsar will get takedowns at some point in this fight, but the bigger moments are going to be coming from Volk.

  • Prediction: Volkanovski ML -110

Petr Yan vs Merab Dvalishvili

Pick: Merab Dvalishvili

Yan solved Merab’s wrestling attack last time out, but Merab was defending the title for the fourth time in a calendar year, and only had 8 weeks between his October fight with Cory Sandhagen and his matchup with Yan in December. While Yan is one of the tougher matchups for Merab, I think we see the best version of Merab on Saturday, which will be too much for Yan to handle

  • Prediction: Merab ML +125

Alexander Volkov vs Rizvan Kuniev

Pick: Alexander Volkov

Volkov arguably beat Cyril Gane when they matched up, and the UFC has been looking to get him back into the title picture since then.  Kuniev is much smaller, and unless he can successfully wrestle, he likely gets pieced up on the outside for 15 minutes.  I don’t love backing a heavyweight that doesn’t have great finishing ability, but I do think this line should be closer to Volkov -200, so I’ll pick him to get the decision victory.

  • Prediction: Volkov ML -125
