UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Duncan — Main Card Picks

Renato Moicano vs. Chris Duncan (Main Event)

Moicano is a great submission specialist, and anytime he can get a takedown, he tends to win his fight.  He has shown that if he gets on top, he is tough to get off, with massive ground and pound and submission skills.  If Moicano can’t win this fight early, he might gas out, but because of that, I’ll take a shot at him winning by submission.

Co-Main Event - Virna Jandiroba vs Tabatha Richi

This fight is similar to the Main Event, with one fighter looking for submissions while the other would prefer to keep it standing.  This fight is much less likely to end in a finish, but because of that, we get a much better price.  Virna just showed that her wrestling is still improving with 9 takedowns over the current champion, MacKenzie Dern, and while she didn’t win that fight, she showed that she is a force on the ground.

  • Best Bet: Jandiroba by Submission (+450)

Guilherme Pat vs Thomas Petersen

Pat is a big guy, but he can be bullied, which is what Petersen does best.  I don’t know if Petersen can get the finish here, but I believe he can control the fight enough to win it.  If Petersen gets a few takedowns, he should be able to hold position and win the rounds at a minimum.
