UFC Fight Night: Emmett vs. Vallejos — Main Card Picks

Josh Emmett vs Kevin Vallejos (Main Event)

This is a main event that features the old veteran in Emmett vs the rising prospect in Vallejos.  This is a tough fight to make money with Vallejos being -600, but I think the way I look at it is a little unconventional.  Emmett should be able to survive the fight, and even if he doesn’t win, he should have his moments.  I like the over 3.5 Rounds -110, and if you have DraftKings, they have a spread bet for Emmett +13.5 at +130.  The spread bet means you add up the judges' scorecards, and you get that many extra points (similar to football).  So if Emmett wins one round in a decision loss, he would lose 49-46 49-46 49-46 (loses by 12 total points and the bet wins).

  • Best Bet: Over 3.5 Rounds (-110)

Amanda Lemos vs Gillian Robertson

This is a classic striker vs submission specialist matchup.  Robertson is nearly a -200 favorite, but she has to wrestle, or else she will look like the +200 underdog.  I don’t want to take Robertson as a big favorite, so I’ll take my chance that she wins this fight by her most likely path to victory and gets the submission.

  • Best Bet: Robertson by Submission (+275)

Andre Fili vs Jose Miguel Delgado

Delgado has to win in the first round; otherwise, this fight is going to get very tight.  Fili can wrestle, but I think Delgado keeps the fight standing early.  I don’t want to be holding a Delgado ticket if this goes more than 7 minutes.

  • Best Bet: Delgado Under 1.5 Rounds (-110).  Delgado R1 KO (+180)
