EPL DFS Playbook April 25: Top DraftKings and FanDuel DFS Soccer Picks
This is the part of the season where the rubber hits the road, with five EPL DFS slates in six days. For most of 2023 we have gotten one big slate every Saturday. In contrast, we have just three games on Tuesday. None of the teams in Tuesday’s slate is higher than sixth or lower than 17th in the table, and none ranks higher than ninth in goals scored. That might lead you to think this will be a low-scoring slate, and that is certainly a possibility. Of course, two of the top four teams in goals allowed (Leeds and Leicester) play each other, so if there is a high-scoring game, that is the best candidate.
EPL DFS Soccer Picks April 25
EPL DFS Top Goalkeepers
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Bernd Leno | FUL | AVL | 4100 | 9.2 | 9 | 14.21 |
| It is interesting to see the goalkeeper prices are so different across the two sites. No team on the slate is higher than ninth in goals scored this season, which could be one good reason to just play the cheapest keeper on your site of choice. That being said, I think I like Leno on both sites. It seems worth it to pay an extra $1 for him on FanDuel just to avoid the Leeds/Leicester game. | ||||||
| Jose Sa | WOL | CRY | 5000 | 6.72 | 11 | 10.34 |
| He wasn't exactly my best call last week but at least he managed five saves. More importantly, Wolverhampton has a win and a clean sheet in five of its last eight home games. Those are pretty good odds, especially in a GPP. It also helps that only Bournemouth has been shut out more than Crystal Palace this season. | ||||||
EPL DFS Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Dan James | FUL | AVL | 6400 | 4.94 | 14 | 5.40 |
| You could certainly argue that James is overpriced, considering he costs $1,500 more than at any other time this season. On the other hand, he had three crosses, two chances created, three shots, a goal, and an assist last time out in his only start of the season at forward. All of Fulham's starting attackers have seen their prices spike, but I still think James is the best value. | ||||||
| Jean-Philippe Mateta | CRY | WOL | 3600 | 2.22 | 12 | 4.43 |
| I'm not seeing a ton of value plays on this slate, so the chance to play one cheap attacker and pay up to two or three other positions is appealing. Odsonne Edouard has failed to get off a shot in two straight games and with the heavy run of fixtures, I like Mateta if he starts, especially for tournaments. | ||||||
| Patson Daka | LEI | LEE | 5800 | 5.25 | 14 | 9.20 |
| Harvey Barnes and Kelechi Iheanacho are overpriced and Jamie Vardy has managed just two shots (none on goal) in his last four starts. This matchup is too good to ignore, so that's where Daka comes in. He had four shots (three on goal) and two crosses last week, and if he can do that again Tuesday he will be well worth his price. | ||||||
| Ollie Watkins | AVL | FUL | 9600 | 11.73 | 23 | 20.10 |
| It was troubling to see Watkins barely even touch the ball against Brentford, and this is a lot to pay for someone who could be a complete non-factor. That being said, just about everyone has that risk on FanDuel, so we may as well go with the guy who has 13 attacking returns in his last 13 games. There are a bunch of good values I like on FanDuel, which makes it even easier to take a risk in the top tier. | ||||||
EPL DFS Top Midfielders
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Joao Moutinho | WOL | CRY | 4200 | 5.31 | 9 | 8.60 |
| Moutinho had four crosses and a chance created in 32 minutes Saturday and with another game in four days, I think there is a good chance Moutinho starts and takes over corners for Pablo Sarabia. That would make Moutinho a near must-play, even if he hasn't had an attacking return in over four months. | ||||||
| Marc Roca | LEE | LEI | 6200 | 7.34 | 11 | 11.08 |
| Unfortunately, you have missed your chance to play Roca at a discount. That being said, he has double-digit DK fantasy points in five of his last six games, and only three teams have allowed more goals than Leicester this season. | ||||||
| James Maddison | LEI | LEE | 8700 | 16.97 | 21 | 21.65 |
| I'm scared to pay up for Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise, and Ollie Watkins after they all no-showed Saturday. Call it an overreaction if you want, but this seems like the perfect time to roster someone with at least 13 DK fantasy points in nine of his last 10 games. It also doesn't hurt that Leeds is 18th in fantasy points allowed to midfielders. | ||||||
| Michael Olise | CRY | WOL | 9000 | 12.55 | 16 | 12.95 |
| Perhaps it is an overstatement to say Olise no-showed Saturday. He only managed two shots but created two chances and sent in 11 crosses. I don't love paying up for two midfielders who aren't forward-eligible, but there are enough cheapish forwards with good matchups to make it viable. | ||||||
EPL DFS Top Defenders
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Victor Kristiansen | LEI | LEE | 4600 | 6.28 | 11 | 11.44 |
| I expected his price to increase more after he picked up an assist Saturday against Wolves. Kristiansen should provide a nice floor, especially with his spot-on corners. | ||||||
| Antonee Robinson | FUL | AVL | 4800 | 6.92 | 10 | 11.10 |
| Robinson has at least four crosses in four consecutive games. They don't always translate into big fantasy days but it happens often enough to consider him relatively safe. He is certainly a better value than Kenny Tete on both sites. | ||||||
| Tyrone Mings | AVL | FUL | 4100 | 3.93 | 11 | 12.08 |
| Mings had eight clearances Saturday to give him double-digit FD fantasy points in eight of his last nine games. Fulham has allowed more clearances than any team on the slate. | ||||||
| Caglar Soyuncu | LEI | LEE | 2700 | 3.42 | 10 | 11.10 |
| His FPPG and his price are dragged down because he came off the bench in one of his four appearances this season. He averaged 14.37 FD fantasy points in his three starts, and it also helps that Leeds has conceded the most tackles + interceptions in the league this season. | ||||||
