TOUR Championship 2026: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections

Upon it’s induction to the PGA Tour in 2007, this event marks the first time that men’s professional golf had a true playoff system. The conclusion of the season long FedEx Cup, players have earned their spot here based on their performance throughout 2025. With only 30 players in the field this week, competition will be fierce. Along with the short field, this is the second season in which we will see the new rules of this event. Previously, your placement in the FedEx Cup standings earned you starting strokes, which was controversial to many as the best actual score would often not win. Tommy Fleetwood, the defending champion, will be looking to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only multi-time winners of this event.

 

East Lake Golf Club: Course Breakdown This Week

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, East Lake Golf Club has been the home to the TOUR Championship since it’s inception. It opened in 1904 and has a very rich history, and has hosted many events such as the 1963 Ryder cup during it’s time. In fact, it has also hosted the East Lake Cup, which is a collegiate match play event that was one by the two most recent winners of the TOUR Championship, Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland.

This year, we will see East Lake play as a Par 70 at just under 7,500 yards from the back tees making it the 6th longest course in the rota. This is just one of many changes, as we’ve seen additional changes, such as changing the greens over to Bermuda, converting the fairways to Zoysia grass, completely redesigning the green complexes, and adding more bunkers to the course. The Par 3s at East Lake all play at over 200 yards, including the 9th hole which can play up to 260 yards. The Par 4s range from 390 to 530 (longer than one of the par 5s), and the par 5s play at 525 and 585 respectively. Tiger Woods holds the record here, when he recorded 257 strokes over four rounds in 2007. 

Even with the changes to the course this year, I have to lean into course history here as there are only 3 courses on tour that are more predictive than East Lake. Only 6 players in the field this week have no experience on this course, while some players have 40 or more rounds here. The last 5 winners of this event (Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, and Tommy Fleetwood) are in the field this week, and will get a boost as a result, especially since they also all have other high finishes here.

While the changes to this course are nothing to shake a stick at, looking at historical performance here, a few things stand clear. Approach play is far more important here than tour average, especially with the added difficulty around the green complexes. Good Drives Gained takes a jump here as well as my preferred off the tee stat, and scoring is going to matter with Birdies or Better Gained taking a big jump as well. That said, every single player in this field has what it takes to win this event.

 

TOUR Championship 2026 Field: Golf DFS

As previously mentioned, this event is the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings. It’s an extremely short field, and one that is loaded with talent. This is an event where you can back essentially any player without much concern as everyone has earned their spot here either through hot streaks of play or through season long dominance. Tommy Fleetwood is the defending champ here, and is looking to join Rory McIlroy as the only active player with multiple TOUR Championships. Other winners in the field include Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele. Ryan Fox, Min Woo Lee, Kristoffer Reitan, Alex Fitzpatrick, Ryan Gerard and Alex smalley are making their East Lake debut this week, and Gary Woodland is making his first start here since 2019.

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: Top Tier

Scottie Scheffler ($14,000 DraftKings/$14,800 FanDuel)

Let’s be honest, no one is surprised to see this name here. Scottie is the best golfer on the planet, and even in a “down” season where he's recorded only 2 wins, he's still far and away the leader of the pack. He's recorded 5 runner ups, 4 other top 5's, and leads the field in many of the Strokes Gained categories for the year. He's going to be popular this week, and even last week, the dude finished T12th while dealing with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. Oh, and he's finished 6th or better here in 5 of his 6 starts at East Lake. Sign me up.

Rory McIlroy ($11,000 DraftKings/$13,400 FanDuel)

Yeah, Rory showed me what I needed to see last week so I have zero hesitancy recommending him this week. He finished in 3rd place at the BMW, on the heals of a great performance throughout the bag. He's a 3 time winner at East Lake, and has recorded just one finish outside the top 16 in this field. I'll take that chance all day, even with the poor performances we've seen since the Memorial.

Xander Schauffele ($10,000 DraftKings/$11,800 FanDuel)

I want to be clear in stating that while I don't LOVE Xander this week, there is a lot to like about his game right now. The scrambling, putting, and driver rank in the top half of this field, and he's the leader of the pack in terms of Strokes Gained: Total at East Lake. That alone has me interested this week, given how predictive the venue is.

 

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: MID-TIER

Wyndham Clark ($9,400 DraftKings/$11,600 FanDuel)

Wyndham opened the door to the player of the year conversation by winning last week, and I think he can slam the door shut if he wins this week. He's a great fit for this venue if his driver keeps cooperating with him, as the rest of his game is in prime form. He's been a top 5 player in this field at East Lake, and his scoring numbers are clearly amongst the best given his 3 wins this season. 

Sam Burns ($9,200 DraftKings/12,000 FanDuel)

I'm so close to giving up on Burns, but I'm not there yet. I truly believe this man can win again, even in an event like this. He's a great putter, solid scrambler, and the ball-striking is at it's all-time peak for his game. He had his best performance ever at East Lake last year, finishing T7 and his game was not in the form it's currently in. The dude has 4 top 5's in his last 7 starts, that cannot be ignored.

Collin Morikawa ($8,100 DraftKings/$10,400 FanDuel)

Say what you want about Morikawa, but the guy was the winner in 2024 if the handicap system didn’t exist as he had the best 72 hole score in the event. This is mostly a gut feeling with Collin this week, as there's a lot to be concerned about. He's the last ranked scrambler, and 2nd lowest ranked putter in the field this week, but he's been so good at East Lake and at it's comp courses, that I just can't get this feeling that Collin is gonna win this thing out of my head.

 

GOLF DFS PICKS THIS WEEK: VALUE TIER

Hideki Matsuyama ($7,600 DraftKings/$9,600 FanDuel)

Hideki is number 2 in the model this week. That isn't a typo, and isn't an error. Hideki has been keeping his driver on the planet, remains an elite wedge player, and is a top 6 player on approach in the field over the last 24 rounds. He's never finished higher than top 5 here, but we're talking about a guy who's just playing great golf right now, and I can't ignore that.

Viktor Hovland ($7,300 DraftKings/$9,800 FanDuel)

Hovland's ranks in this field are as follows: 3rd in Good Drives, 2nd in Par 4 Scoring, 8th in Bermuda Putting, 3rd at East Lake and 3rd in Scoring. Do the other stats paint as pretty of a picture? No, but he is still the 4th ranked player in my model. His approach from 200+ will have to improve, but I trust his game to play well yet again at a venue that he's won at.

Tom Kim ($6,800 DraftKings/$8,200 FanDuel)

Kim's profile is very similar to Hovland, but it's better in a few ways. He's been a better scorer and bogey avoider, the recent form is stronger, the approach play is better, and even the wedges and putter have been better. The downside for Kim is that he's not been the best at East Lake (T20th in his only appearance here) but he's playing such good golf as a whole right now and I can't look away from this price, especially if Scottie is your choice at the high end.
