The Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars go head-to-head in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Dallas has won two games in a row and are looking to keep their winning streak and season alive. Jamie Benn will make his return to the lineup after serving his two-game suspension, but will that be enough? Can Vegas close out this series and punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals? Highest Expected Goal Totals

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Jake Oettinger: (2.7)

Dallas Stars vs. Adin Hill: (3.0)

Dallas Stars Vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Players to target: Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson, Adin Hill, Jack Eichel, Jonathan Marchessault, Brett Howden, Alex Pietrangelo, Zach Whitecloud, Ivan Barbashev.

The total for Game 6 opened at 5.5 and that number should stay there as we approach puck drop. We’ve seen the Dallas Stars be able to win two games in a row and now they get a boost with Jamie Benn coming back into the lineup, but I don’t think that will be enough to save their season. Vegas knows that the pressure is on them and they’ve been very good at winning games on the road.

The Golden Knights had 23 turnovers last game, which is way too many. You can’t expect to win hockey games when you’re turning the puck over that many times. Adin Hill also had a mediocre performance. I expect both of those things to be correct for this game, which should be enough to give them the edge. With this game expected to be a low-scoring affair, we can once again target a goalie in the CPT spot. It’s Adin Hill or bust for me.

As for the rest of my lineup, I’m going to load up on Vegas skaters. Jack Eichel has been playing some really good hockey of late and Jonathan Marchessault has been scoring important goals since the beginning of the playoffs. I’ll gladly have both players in my lineup. If I have the salary, I’ll also spend up for Alex Pietrangelo. Vegas has done a good job of playing all six of their defenseman, but that could change tonight. We could see Pietrangelo play some important minutes if this game is close heading into the third period.

On the Dallas side, Jason Robertson is the only player I would really consider. There are lots of great value options to target (Max Domi, Ty Dellandrea, Wyatt Johnston) but are they going to be able to hit value? If Dallas is trailing at any point in this game, but especially with under 10 minutes left in the third period, Robertson is going to be on the ice as much as humanly possible. He broke out with an 11-shot performance in Game 4, so you know he can shoot the puck when his team needs him. He’s expensive, but clearly worth every dollar. If anyone is going to have a big game, it’s going to be him or Joe Pavelski. I’d rather trust the player who loves to shoot the puck.
