Just like that we hit Game Two of the NHL DFS season, as Filip Forsberg and the Nashville Predators complete their two-game stint in Prague against Erik Karlsson and the San Jose Sharks. The Preds took the first game with a 4-1 win as Kiefer Sherwood scored the first goal of the 2022 NHL season. The second game will see puck drop at 2:00pm ET once against so let’s dive into today’s NHL DFS top plays!

NHL DFS Captain/MVP Top Plays

We have some options on both teams for the captain spot.

Roman Josi

We didn’t see a big game from Josi in Game One. He had a couple of shots on goal and blocked three shots but you’re going to need points from Josi to get to a slate breaking performance from the big defenceman, and it will be difficult for the Sharks to keep him off the scoreboard two games in a row.

Timo Meier

We got the shots that we expected from Meier in Game One with five, and and an assist. If we see a high volume of shots again in this game, we shouldn’t be surprised if he can score a goal or two as the Predators will likely to go their backup goaltender, Kevin Lankinen, with these games being back-to-back.

Matt Duchene

Duchene was a star in the first game, scoring a goal and putting up five shots. We will take that production every day of the week, and we shouldn’t be surprised if we see similar production again in this game.

NHL DFS Flex Top Plays

Erik Karlsson

If game one was any indication, then we can assume Karlsson is feeling good. He played 26 minutes, and while he wasn’t incredibly productive, he is still a gifted offensive player and with that many minutes the points will come.

Tomas Hertl

Hertl got his first goal of the season in front of his fellow Czech’s, and I would expect him to continue to be motivated to put on a show in Game Two as well.

Mario Ferraro

Ferraro nailed his value in the first game with six blocked shots. I would go back to him again in this game as he will continue to be a great value at his price.

Filip Forsberg

With just one point and two shots in Game One, Forsberg was a little underwhelming, but he is a gifted goal scorer and can get you a couple of goals in any given game.

Kiefer Sherwood

Sherwood made the most of his ten minutes of ice time in the first game with a goal and an assist. His price will remain low, so if you’re looking to ride what might be a hot player he could be a strong value, or you could be chasing points. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Ryan McDonagh

McDonagh, like Ferrero on the Sharks side, isn’t going to be the sexiest play, but he can get to value in multiple ways. He blocked four shots and put one shot on goal which was more than enough to get value from him while still allowing you to get in multiple top players.
