DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

With there being 11 games today there is going to be a lot of variety in lineups. The Bookies like Tampa Bay, Boston, and Carolina to score the most goals today, so we should certainly pay attention to those teams with Nikita Kucherov, David Pastrnak and Seth Jarvis being the most notable high-end plays from those teams. I would also keep an eye on the Flames. They have been putting a lot of shots on goal recently and players like Elias Lindholm, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Nazem Kadri could all have solid nights facing a Saint Louis Blues team that has struggled so far this season. I also don't mind spending up for Colorado's top players Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar. Pittsburgh is yet to show any consistency, and it wouldn't be a surprise for the Avs to put up big numbers.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Tristan Jarry vs Colorado Avalanche

Ilya Sorokin vs Ottawa Senators

Joel Hofer vs Calgary Flames

Best Odds for a Win

Jonas Johansson vs San Jose Sharks

Linus Ullmark vs Anaheim Ducks

Pyotr Kochetkov vs Seattle Kraken

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Linus Ullmark G, Boston Bruins

The Bruins made me sweat a bit on Sunday when they went down 1-0 in the third, but they ultimately pulled out a 3-1 victory. This game at home should be no less safe for the Bruins as the Ducks are likely to struggle to create offensive, and its possible that Trevor Zegras will also be out for the Ducks which will help Ullmark as well.

Joseph Woll G, Toronto Maple Leafs

It looks like Woll will get the start for the Leafs. Woll has been impressive in his three starts this season putting up a 0.957 save percentage in those starts, and his ownership will likely be supressed a bit as he is on the road and facing a good Dallas team.

Ilya Sorokin G, New York Islanders

Sorokin has had back-to-back poor starts giving up five goals to both Colorado and New Jersey, which is many respects is forgivable. Ottawa has no shortage of scoring talent, but I look for Sorokin to bounce back today and make a lot of saves while he does it as the Sens have averaged more than 35 shots per game in the last two weeks.

Jonas Johansson, G, Tampa Bay Lightning

I'm not sure what Tampa Bay has done with Johansson but he has looked good. He hasn't lost since opening night, and he has a 0.917 save percentage on the season. He will face a Sharks team that is scoring less than 2 goals per game on average, so he should be a fairly safe option today.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Mackenzie Blackwood (4.2)

Boston Bruins vs Lukas Dostal (3.9)

Carolina Hurricanes vs Joey Daccord (3.9)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Dylan Larkin C, Detroit Red Wings

Larkin has been absolute money recently. He has scored in four of his last five games, and he has multi-point games in four straight games as well.

Adam Fantilli, C, Columbus Blue Jackets

We have seen Fantilli have a solid start to the season with four points in six games. He will face a Canadiens team today that isn't incredibly consistent and they are also going to Sam Montembeault instead of Jake Allen which also helps Fantilli's prospects as well.

Mikko Rantanen W, Colorado Avalanche

It seems like Rantanen rarely disappoints. He has scored in three of his last four games, and he is putting shots on goal as well with five or more in two of his last three games. He will face Tristan Jarry and the Penguins today and Jarry has not been good this year. He has a 1-3-0 record and an 0.892 save percentage, so look for another solid game from Rantanen.

Cole Caufield W, Montreal Canadiens

This should be a good matchup for Caufield. Columbus will give up goals, and Caufield has consistently put shots on goal, with five or more shots in three of his last five games.

Shayne Gostisbehere D, Detroit Red Wings

Gostisbehere has made the most of his early time in the motor city. He has points in four of his last five games, and he has three point on the powerplay in his last two games on top of that. He continues to be a solid value.

Jamie Oleksiak, D, Seattle Kraken

Oleksiak is a straight blocked shots player, but he is near minimum priced, and he faces a Hurricanes team today that has put nearly 32 shots on goal over the last two weeks so there should be lots of opportunities for him to get to three again today.
