Welcome to Thursday’s 11-game NHL Slate. There are plenty of elite options to choose from tonight, like Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche and Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers. Still, we will need to dig deep to find value plays.. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Thursday, November 9th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's look closer at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

NHL DFS Playbook November 9th

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

It’s a massive 11-game slate with the San Jose Sharks in action. We need to make sure we are paying up for the right superstar and that our value plays hit. There’s more than enough value to go around so let’s dig right into things and build a winning DFS lineup!

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

MacKenzie Blackwood Vs. Edmonton Oilers

Juuse Saros  Vs. Winnipeg Jets

Ilya Sorokin Vs. Boston Bruins

Best Odds for a Win

Jonas Johansson Vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Jake Oettinger Vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Stuart Skinner Vs. San Jose Sharks

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Stuart Skinner, G, Edmonton Oilers

It can’t get any worse for the Edmonton Oilers, right? This is a must-win game for them and they can’t afford to lose a game to the San Jose Sharks. I know Stuart Skinner has been a trash can this season, but if he can’t win tonight, when it is going to happen?

James Reimer, G, Detroit Red Wings

The Montreal Canadiens have lost four in a row and aren’t a very good team on the road. James Reimer has been good this season and I expect his strong play to continue. Love his soft $7900 price tag on DraftKings.

Connor Ingram, G, Arizona Coyotes

Connor Ingram is 4-1-0 on the season with a 2.47 GAA and a .919 sV%. Those are some pretty respectable numbers. The Blues can’t score goals and they don’t shoot the puck much, so it might be hard for Ingram to hit value. That being said, his $7600 price tag is more than enough to get me on board.

Louis Domingue, G, New York Rangers

If Jonathan Quick can look good with the Rangers, why can’t Louis Domingue? He’s $6500 on DK and is facing a weak Minnesota team. This isn’t a safe play, but the salary savings alone has my attention. Even if he allows a few goals, as long as he picks up the win, he should be able to hit value.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Edmonton Oilers  Vs MacKenzie Blackwood (4.6)

Tampa Bay Lightning Vs. Petr Mrazek (4.1)

Colorado Avalanche Vs. Philippe Grubauer (4.0)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

AlekIf I’m paying up at the centre position, it’s for Nathan MacKinnon. The matchup on paper is elite and we know he can really shoot the puck. He’s worth every dollar.

J.T. Miller, C, Vancouver Canucks

The Senators are playing their second game in as many nights an they just aren’t a great team. Everyone will be looking at Elias Pettersson, but we can get J.T. Miller at a cheaper cap hit and with similar production.

Leon Draisaitl, W, Edmonton Oilers

There’s nothing wrong with Connor McDavid tonight, but I’m not paying a premium for a player who has two goals on the season when I can get Leon Drasaitl at a discount. He’s been good this season, but he still hasn’t exploded offensively, but that could change tonight.

Nikita Kucherov, W, Tampa Bay Lighting

Nikita Kucherov quietly has 11 goals and 16 shots on goal in the last three games and has a matchup against Chicago. The man is on another level right now, so if you’re fading the Oilers, he’s the next-best option.

Evan Bouchard, D, Edmonton Oilers

The cheapest way to get exposure to Edmonton is via Evan Bouchard. He hasn’t been racking up a ton of points, but he’s still on the top power play unit and is seeing a ton of ice time. He’s another way to get some exposure to a disappointing hockey team.

Mario Ferraro, D, San Jose Sharks

Nothing fancy with Mario Ferraro. We know he’s in our DFS lineup to block shots and I expect him to be doing a ton of that tonight. Edmonton is going to be flying around the ice and Ferraro is going to be counted on to make sure shots don’t get close to the net because if they do, they will end up in the back of the net.
