Welcome to Monday’s 4-game NHL Slate. There are a handful of elite options to choose from, like Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Elias Pettersson of the Vancouver Canucks, but we will need to dig deep to find value plays. There are a lot of games to choose from, so finding value is going to be key. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Saturday, November 4th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's now take a closer look at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

With just 4 games to poke around at for tonight's games we're going to have a narrow margin of error and pick the right players in the right spots. The Tampa Bay and Toronto matchup will be the chalk with great players and suspect goaltending but don't be afraid to have some pieces. Other options to explore will be the Canucks against the struggling the Oilers and the Panthers at home against the Blue Jackets. Going to need a sprinkle of the Boston and Dallas game too but I will be shying away from the superstars with a potential low scoring game.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Elvis Merzlikins vs Florida Panthers

Jonas Johansson vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Jeremy Swayman vs Dallas Stars

Best Odds for a Win

Sergei Bobrovsky vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Jonas Johansson vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Jake Oettinger vs Boston Bruins

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Florida Panthers

In a slate with a lot of tricky games Bobrovsky is the safest play in net tonight against the Blue Jackets. His 2.51 GAA is average but Columbus sits at just 2.55 goals scored per game right now and they'll be on the road. Got to love a goaltender at home when his team is a huge favorite, especially with some of the landmines out there today.

Jeremy Swayman, G, Boston Bruins

I would be okay starting Swayman or Jake Oettinger tonight but the edge for me is on the road goalie here. The Stars are a great team but they aren't scoring a ton at 2.9 goals per game and the Bruins play even better defense than Dallas does and that's hard to do. Swayman is 5-0-0 this season with a 1.38 GAA and .953 SV% let's give him some respect.

Thatcher Demko, G, Vancouver Canucks

I dub this play the “catch the falling knife” goalie play of the day as Demko has been excellent this season but playing a netminder against Connor McDavid and company is a dangerous way to live. Demko sits with a 1.55 GAA and record of 6-2-0 on the season and will see a high volume of shots as the Oilers let it rip. If he can hold his own tonight, it'll be a huge upside play.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Implied Goal Totals

Edmonton Oilers  Vs Thatcher Demko (3.9)

Florida Panthers Vs. Elvis Merzlikins (3.8)

Toronto Maple Leafs Vs. Joonas Johansson (3.7)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Elias Pettersson, C, Vancouver Canucks

Petterson is enjoying one of the best starts to a season in his NHL career right now with 20 points through 11 games! I don't think he slows down tonight either against an Oilers team circling the drain on defense. Edmonton also allows the MOST DFS points per game to centers this season.

Auston Matthews, C, Toronto Maple Leafs

You can feel free to fade Matthews at your own risk because the man is averaging a goal per game this season and has 51 total shots already through 11 games. I know McDavid is in this slate but Matthews has just been better this season and against the Lightning who aren't the team on defense they used to be you must plug him into your lineups.

Nikita Kucherov, W, Tampa Bay Lightning

For all the bad the Lightning are on defense the Maple Leafs aren't much better and Ilya Samsonov is starting for them and looks completely lost. Kuch has had some dud games this season but is coming off a 5 point performance from Saturday against the Senators and when this guy gets hot look out!

Matthew Tkachuk, W, Florida Panthers

The Panthers have really struggled on offense to start the season, ranking in the bottom third of goals per game. I chalk a lot of that up to them being without Sam Bennett, Brandon Montour and Aaron Ekblad but either way they are in a great spot tonight. The Blue Jackets expected goals against this season ranks 5th highest in the NHL and Tkachuk is a super star ready to exploit them.

Quinn Hughes, D, Vancouver Canucks

16 points in 11 games for the young blue liner this season going against the Oilers who are allowing 4.1 goals per game, you do the math on that one. Oilers also allow the 7th most DFS points to defenseman this season.

John Klingberg, D, Toronto Maple Leafs

His price is good and cheap for someone that skates with the Maple Leafs top powerplay unit in a game total that is 7 on some sportsbooks at the moment. At this price point he needs just a few blocked shots and an assist that makes him worth the play in your lineups!
