Welcome to Thursday’s eight-game NHL Slate. There are some elite options to choose from, Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks, but we still need to find value elsewhere. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Sunday, November 16th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's look closer at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

We have a great slate with some elite players to choose from. The Vancouver Canucks may be playing the tail end of a back-to-back, but they are still a team to consider. San Jose is in action, so we have to take advantage of that and the St. Louis Blues have been scoring goals in bunches of late. We also have Sidney Crosby coming off a hat trick, so there is no shortage of games to target. Let’s take a look at which players we need to be focusing on.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Sergei Bobrovsky Vs. Los Angeles Kings

Semyon Varlamov  Vs. Seattle Kraken

MacKenzie Blackwood Vs. St. Louis Blues

Best Odds for a Win

Adin Hill Vs. Montreal Canadiens

Jordan Binnington Vs. San Jose Sharks

Joonas Johansson Vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Jordan Binnington, G, San Jose Sharks

This is my official apology to Jordan Binnington. I had no faith in him on Tuesday and didn’t really back him up in the Fantasy Alarm NHL Discord. He posted a shutout that night and now has a 2.27 GAA and a .930 SV%. He’s reminding everyone that he is a good goalie and has by far the best matchup on paper. Maybe it’s time to believe in him again.

Connor Ingram, G, Arizona Coyotes

Connor Ingram has won his last four starts and has a 5-1 record with a 2.87 GAA and a .911 SV%. Columbus is a pretty bad offensive hockey team, so this is a great spot for him to do some damage and hit value.

Casey DeSmith, G, Vancouver Canucks

I know the Vancouver Canucks are playing their second game in as many nights, but there is ZERO reason for them to be underdogs against the Flames. DeSmith is 4-0-1 on the season and has respectable numbers, so why has the Vegas line shifted toward Calgary? Are they suddenly good? Is Hubderdeau back to being elite? Some people aren’t taking the Canucks seriously and that’s a shame.

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Florida Panthers

Before you call me crazy just let me cook! The Kings are a good hockey team, but they can’t win on home ice. They are 1-3-3 this season and have lost two in a row. The Panthers are a pretty good hockey team and have won five games in a row. Are some people sleeping on the Panthers? Maybe, but I’m at least willing to take the risk with Bobrovsky at $7300 in a GPP. It’s not a safe play by any means, but if he can pick up the win, then he hits value.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Vegas Golden Knights  Vs Jake Allen (3.9)

Tampa Bay Lightning Vs. Petr Mrazek (3.8)

St. Louis Blues Vs. MacKenzie Blackwood (3.8)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins

If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. Sidney Crosby is coming off a hat trick and has a good matchup against a New Jersey team missing their two best players. I expect a healthy amount of scoring chances from both sides.

Brayden Point, C, Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay hasn’t scored a goal in two games, so you know they’ll want to come out and change that early. Brayden Point is elite and he’s a great option down the middle on this slate.

Nikita Kucherov, W, Tampa Bay Lighting

It’s the same exact story for Nikita Kucherov. You know he’s going to want to go out there and just fire the puck a ton and I expect him to do so. His price tag is up there, but his ceiling is just as high.

Jordan Kyrou, W, St. Louis Blues

I’m really worried about the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Blues are red hot and Jordan Kyrou is coming off a two-goal performance. He loves to shoot the puck and I expect him to do a ton of that against the worst NHL team.

Justin Barron, D, Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens are going to have a very tough night against Vegas. Justin Barron played a season-high 22 minutes against the Flames and is seeing time on the second power play unit AND second penalty kill. The kid is getting his chance to show management what he can do, so for $3100 on DK, he can certainly hit value without having to register a point.

Filip Hronek, D, Vancouver Canucks

Filip Hronek is having a spectacular season. He scored his first goal of the season yesterday on an absolute bomb and he's not up to 17 points on the year. He loves to shoot the puck and is seeing a healthy amount of ice time. He’s no Quinn Hughes, but he’s under $5K on DK and that’s just laughable. Don’t be afraid to get him into your lineups.
