DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts
We only have two games tonight, but they are going to be exciting. The Devils came alive last game-- scoring eight goals-- and are hoping to keep that momentum rolling in game four, while the Dallas Stars look to tie things up against the Kraken. I don’t expect to see a ton of goals from these games like last time, but there are some players that we need to pay attention to.

Top Options for Saves

Philipp Grubauer vs Dallas Stars
Vitek Vanecek vs Carolina Hurricanes

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups
Frederik Andersen, G, Carolina Hurricanes
Did Fredrik Andersen let us down last time? Yes, but that just means we are going to get him at even lower ownership. New Jersey came out with a ton of pace to their games and were allowed to do whatever they wanted on home ice. That’s going to change in game four. The Hurricanes are a great defensive team and Andersen has been very good in the playoffs. One bad start isn’t going to scare me away.
Jake Oettinger, G, Dallas Stars
Speaking of goalies who got lit up, Jake Oettinger is another one who had a game three to forget. He gave up five goals on 17 shots and was done after two periods. Oettinger hasn’t been elite in the playoffs, but he’s done well on the road and he needs to be the best player on the ice for his team to win. I’m looking for him to bounce back in this one and for the Stars to tie the series up.
Philipp Grubauer, G, Seattle Kraken
If I have to pick an underdog goalie to exceed his value, it’s going to be Philipp Grubauer. Vitek Vanecek may have gotten the win last game, but he still gave up four goals on 30 shots. Grubauer has been really good in the playoffs and I like his chances to cause an upset on home ice. The Stars are a dangerous team, but Grubauer could hit value if he can stop over 35 shots and force this game to overtime.
Recommended DFS Skaters
Highest Expected Goal Totals
New Jersey Devils vs Frederik Andersen (3.1)
Dallas Stars vs. Philipp Grubauer (3.0)
Seattle Kraken vs. Jake Oettinger (2.6)
Carolina Hurricanes vs. Vitek Vanecek (2.5)
Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups
Jack Hughes, C, New Jersey Devils
The Devils are only as good as Jack Hughes. He picked up four points last game despite playing just 17 minutes. That may have been because the game was out of reach, but I’m expecting things to be closer tonight. Hughes is also a good candidate to hit the shot bonus, so there's a lot of upside to playing him.
Sebastian Aho, W, Carolina Hurricanes
I am not buying this Carolina 2.5-team total tonight. The Devils may have scored eight goals, but they still gave up four! Vitek Vanecek hasn’t been great in the playoffs, so why would I trust him tonight? We know the Hurricanes are missing some key forwards, but Sebastian Aho is a great player who’s going to get chances to score goals and rack up points. I’ll gladly pay up for him while everyone else forgets that he’s a good player.
Jared McCann, W, Seattle Kraken
Jared McCann is expected to take warmups tonight, but we don’t know if he’s going to play. The fact that he’s even getting that far is a good sign, so if he is confirmed to play, I love him at his $5900 price tag. He scored 40 goals in the regular season and would Seattle’s offense a huge boost, even if they don’t need one. If he’s out of the lineup, there are lots of great options to pivot to. You would be smart to play him in the UTIL spot for some roster flexibility.
Luke Hughes, D, New Jersey Devils
Luke Hughes got his first taste of playoff action and it was a great success. He finished the night with two assists and just over 14 minutes of ice time. I’d like to see him play a little more, but I know that won’t happen. The Devils are going to limit his minutes because he’s a rookie, but the kid has the ability to get on the scoresheet and he’s only $3000 tonight. I can’t pass up that kind of value.
