Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook. This is your one-stop shop for everything DFS related for tonight’s 9-game slate. There are a handful of big matchups for some select offenses tonight so those will be the targets in daily fantasy of course. We have some very good matchups to cover, so let’s get into the action.

For the NHL Bets, we are going to start off very slowly. It’s a new year, and things around the league are going to be different. We don’t have stats yet to work with, so most recommendations are going to be educated guesses. Don’t blow your (bankroll) load in the first month of action. NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/6

 

Blues vs. Sabres Prediction 

St. Louis is playing the second leg of a back to back tonight and they are fresh off getting their tails kicked in by the Washington Capitals. The back to back doesn't help but the Blues are playing terribly to start the season regardless as they sit at 4-8-2. They also have the worst defense in the NHL right now allowing 4.14 goals per game and their backup goaltender Joel Hofer will start. His GAA of 5.0 and 0.836% is in the gutter so things look great for Buffalo tonight. Sabres are 5-2-2 on home ice this season and are 3.11 goals per game in front of their fans. Time to load up on the Sabres Money Line tonight and take advantage of fading the Blues.

Ducks vs. Stars Prediction

Who would've thought that the Ducks would be the hottest team in hockey at any point this season? Well, that's where we are right now as they've won 4 straight and 7 of their last 10 games! They are being carried by this offense that has scored 3.71 goals per game on the road this season because their defense is among the leagues highest in expected goals allowed at 3.7! The Stars on the other side are holding up just fine with an expected goals mark of 3.54 and while the defense is good it hasn't been top tier like in past years. I expect the pace of this game to be one of the fastest on the slate so I will be taking the over for sure. 

Pick: Ducks & Stars Over 6 Goals (-125 on Caesars)

Goalie of The Day: Frederik Andersen - CAR

The goalie for Carolina is yet to be confirmed but its really any of them for the goalie of the day. The Hurricanes wrote the book on great team defense the last few years and the goalie behind them always benefits greatly. The Wild are also struggling on offense in the first month or so with just 2.17 goals per game scored on the road. Nice spot for the Hurricanes goaltending tonight and they'll be in my lineups. 

Player of The Day: Tage Thompson - BUF

Anybody against the Blues right now gets a massive bump up and it helps if you're already an offensive scoring machine! Thompson is coming off a dud game but before that he topped 15 of more DFS points in 5 straight games and the shots on goal are like he's out there padding stats. No hesitation on this play today, going to be a huge game.  

Value Play of The Day: Nikolaj Ehlers - CAR

Really liking the Canes today as the matchup is a good one but also because many of their wingers are often underpriced! Ehlers is on the 2nd line and the top powerplay group right now and is coming off a game where he scored his first and a Hurricane. The monkey is off his back and he can shoot freely again especially against the Wild who are allowing the 2nd most DFS points to left wingers on the season!
