Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook. This is your one-stop shop for everything DFS related for tonight’s 10-game slate. There are a handful of big matchups for some select offenses tonight so those will be the targets in daily fantasy of course. We have some very good matchups to cover, so let’s get into the action.

For the NHL Bets, we are going to start off very slowly. It’s a new year, and things around the league are going to be different. We don’t have stats yet to work with, so most recommendations are going to be educated guesses. Don’t blow your (bankroll) load in the first month of action. NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/8

 

Sabres vs. Hurricanes Prediction 

As fun as the Sabres have been this season, at home in particular they can't buy a win on the road so far. They are 0-2-2 and are heading into Raleigh to take on the Hurricanes who have been one of the best home teams in the league going back a couple of years. Buffalo is allowing 3.75 goals per game while scoring just 2.25 while the Canes are scoring 4.6 goals per game on home ice, the highest mark by far in the NHL. The money line is juiced to high heaven so it will need to be a Puck Line play tonight on Carolina but I am more than comfortable with that seeing how Buffalo has played away from home. 

Pick: Hurricanes Puck Line -1.5 (+100 on BetMGM)

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs Prediction

A rivarly is renewed tonight in Toronto as the Bruins come to town and both teams are playing so real good hockey. The Bruins have one 5 straight games and the Maple Leafs 3 games as both offenses have carried the torch. During the win streak Boston has scored 18 goals and Toronto has scored 3.71 goals per game overall on the season. It will likely continue in this direction tonight as well with the defenses not holding up their end of things. Maple Leafs are allowing 3.57 goals per game so far this season and the Bruins aren't far behind at 3.31. I fully intend to back the offenses today to keep up the great work so give me the over in this game tonight.

Goalie of The Day: Logan Thompson - WSH

Picking a goalie on the road is always going a bit against the grain but the Capitals are just playing lock down defense again this season and the Lightning haven't quite gotten things going yet. In road games this season Washington is allowing just 2 goals per game but are allowing 30 shots on goal which could give Thompson the potential for a huge game. The Caps starter is also 6-3-0 on the season with a 1.45 GAA and 0.938 SV% so I will be rolling him out everywhere tonight. 

Player of The Day: Auston Matthews - TOR

As good as the Bruins have been playing they still aren't the best defensive team allowing 3.31 goals per game and nearly 30 shots. That's where Matthews comes in as Boston also allows the 4th most DFS points to centers on the season and Matthews is heating up after a slow start to the season with 3 goals in 3 games with 11 shots on goal. Should be a big spot for him and the Maple Leafs tonight and an even better game script. 

Value Play of The Day: Brad Marchand - FLA

For a player with 9 goals and 15 points on the season I am surprised to see him at 5.6k over on DraftKings but, hey I don't set the prices. The Sharks allow the 2nd most DFS points per game to right wingers on the season and Marchand has put up double digit points for lineups in 5 of the last 6 games. This one should be all Panthers tonight and Marchand should eat!
