We have a monster 10-game NHL slate which sees puck drop at 7 pm and a ton of options to sort through. The big news for tonight's slate is that Auston Matthews is expected to return to the lineup for the Toronto Maple Leafs, after missing nearly a month of action.

NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, November 30th

We are coming off an insanely high-scoring slate last night where 13 teams scored at least three goals. The goals are coming early and often for teams and hopefully, we see much of the same tonight.

Today’s NHL DFS Slate Overview

NHL DFS Pick'em Picks on Sleeper Fantasy

Brandon Montour and the Seattle Kraken are coming off a crazy 8-5 loss to the San Jose Sharks yesterday and have the same matchup today to get some revenge. I wrote about Montour yesterday for over 2.5 shots on goal which came through with a win and today I want to turn to points. He's the defender on the top power-play unit and despite the five goals yesterday, he didn't record a single point. The Kraken have a 3.6 implied goal total today and with the offensive role Montour plays, I expect him to find his way to the scoresheet.

Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights are coming off a big win last night and will take on the Utah Hockey Club tonight. Eichel was held without a shot on goal last night which is outside of his norm. He comes in with at least three shots on goal in seven of his last 10 games, a level he can certainly get back to tonight against Utah.

Brock Nelson and the New York Islanders are coming off another tough loss and are in need of a win back at home tonight against the Buffalo Sabres. Nelson has been one of the better players for the Islanders this season and is second on the team with 73 shots on goal through 24 games, or 3.04 per game. Last night, Nelson had zero shots on goal, so as usual, I'll take this bounce-back spot. Nelson has at least two shots on goal in eight of his last 10 games and at least three in four of those games.

Saturday Salary Cap DFS Picks

Goalie Of The Day: Ilya Sorokin - NYI

Ilya Sorokin is confirmed as the New York Islanders starter tonight and they need him at his very best. Sorokin is truly one of the very best goalies in the league and is often called upon to carry the Islanders to a win. He comes in with at least 29 saves in six of his last 10 starts and that is what we should see from him tonight.

The Buffalo Sabres come in generating 67.21 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-highest in the league over the last two weeks. However, they are only scoring 1.52 Goals in those situations, which is the second-lowest in the league. A ton of shot attempts, but not a ton of goals.

This should put Sorokin in a spot to pile up the saves and limit the goals against, and when we combine that with a favorable salary, we have a solid fantasy option tonight.

Play Of The Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

Listen, Connor McDavid is the best player on the planet and he's going through one of those stretches where he's simply too good to fade. He comes in with a staggering 9 goals, 11 assists, and 45 shots on goal. This has allowed him to rack up 19 DraftKings points or more in seven of his last 10 games, with six of those games going for 25+ DK points.

While we have Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon on tonight's slate, I find myself going back to McDavid time and time again to lock in that floor and ceiling of fantasy points.

Value Play Of The Day: Will Smith - SJS

The San Jose Sharks are coming off a crazy game against the Seattle Kraken where we saw 13 goals. Should we expect 13 goals again tonight given it's the same exact matchup? No, of course not. But that doesn't mean we can't be in for 6-7 goals and plenty of fantasy value.

The Sharks might not be “good” in terms of real-life hockey, but they have a ton of solid fantasy options, and that brings me to Will Smith. He's under $3K on DraftKings and is seeing time on the second power-play unit and the third forward line. Over his last 10 games, he has piled up 15 shots on goal, 5 assists, and 2 goals. It's a solid level of production at a great salary.

Stack Of The Day: VGK L1 (Jack Eichel, Ivan Barbashev, Pavel Dorofeyev)

The Vegas Golden Knights come in with a slate-high 3.8 implied goal total as they are at home to take on the Utah Hockey Club. The Golden Knights' top line of Jack Eichel, Ivan Barbashev, and Pavel Dorofeyev are buzzing lately with a combined 31 points and 76 shots on goal over their last 10 games.

They have plenty of fantasy production on a nightly basis along with being reasonably priced overall. Yes, Eichel is expensive but Barbashev and Dorofeyev are both under $5K on DraftKings. Utah has allowed four goals to Vegas in each of their first two meetings this season, which certainly looks like the case again tonight.
