🏒NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 5/4
🔥 Anaheim Ducks vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
Let me start by saying that the Anaheim Ducks and their fans should be proud of this team. Not many people expected them to make the playoffs, let alone defeat the Edmonton Oilers. While it’s great to see the team succeeding, the second round could pose a significant challenge.
The Oilers struggled with secondary scoring, Connor McDavid was hindered by a broken foot, and Connor Ingram recorded the worst expected goals saved above average (xGSA) of any goalie in the first round. Considering these factors, it’s clear why Anaheim advanced, even though Lukas Dostal had a tough time with a 3.87 goals-against average (GAA) and a .873 save percentage (SV%). If he doesn’t improve his performance, this series could end quickly.
Vegas has its own issues, but they have a deep offensive lineup that can rely on contributions from multiple players. If they get pucks on goal and establish traffic in front of Dostal, they will score. Game 1 could be a high-scoring affair, and since you already locked in the over on 5.5 goals as Mark Lammey suggested, let’s focus on the Golden Knights’ team total. With the number of chances they will generate, expecting them to score four goals shouldn’t be too difficult.
- Vegas Golden Knights Team Total Over 3.5 (-115 on DraftKings)
🔥 Philadelphia Flyers vs Carolina Hurricanes Prediction
Game 2 between the Flyers and Hurricanes is tonight, and Philadelphia will want to put together a much better effort. They struggled to generate offense in the previous game, resulting in another shutout for Frederik Andersen. We knew this series wouldn’t be easy, but the Flyers need to find an extra gear; otherwise, their playoff run will end quickly, sending them to join the Ottawa Senators on the golf course.
Carolina’s second line has been a dominant force in the playoffs, and no one seems to have found a way to slow them down. Logan Stankoven has scored in each postseason game and continues to create numerous scoring chances. However, despite his increased production, his shot total is just 2.5, which is too low for a player who consistently clears that mark night after night. We’ll take the Over and move on to bigger and better things in life.
- Logan Stankoven Over 2.5 Shots (-130 on DraftKings)
