🏒NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 5/10
🔥 Golden Knights vs Ducks Prediction: Sunday, May 10th
I'm not trying to rub salt in the wounds of Maple Leaf fans, but Mitch Marner has been outstanding in the playoffs. He is tied for second in playoff scoring with 13 points and just recorded his first career playoff hat trick. His performance has been exceptional, and there’s every reason to believe he can maintain this level of play.
The Ducks struggled defensively throughout the season, and this weakness was evident early in the series. Despite playing at home, Lukas Dostal had difficulty stopping pucks, allowing the Golden Knights' experience to shine through. Part of Marner’s success can be attributed to William Karlsson, who has solidified the second-line center position, enabling Mitch to move back to the wing.
Mark Stone left the last game due to injury, and his status for tonight’s game is uncertain, with expectations leaning toward him not playing. This gives Marner an additional opportunity to log more ice time and take on a greater shooting role on his line. His shot total prop is set at 2.5, which seems reasonable, but it’s still too low. Marner has surpassed this figure in three of his last four games. Expect another high-level performance from the first-year Golden Knight.
- Mitch Marner OVER 3+ SOG (+130 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
🔥 Sabres vs Canadiens Prediction: Sunday, May 10th
Saying that the Buffalo Sabres had their worst playoff performance in Game 2 would be an understatement. At times, they appeared lost, unable to generate consistent offense, and costly unforced errors plagued their game. However, we all know they are capable of a much better performance tonight. Buffalo has been a strong road team all year and has shown that it can win in hostile territory.
The Canadiens are heading into Game 3 with full confidence. While their top line is still trying to find its rhythm, the offence from the defence is making a significant impact. They have played well defensively, but Buffalo is a big team that likes to get pucks deep and establish a forecheck. The Canadiens are comfortable playing in their own zone as long as they limit Buffalo's scoring chances.
In the first two games, Rasmus Dahlin has recorded nine shots on goal and is averaging over 22 minutes of ice time per night. Though he has yet to get any points, the talented defenseman is willing to push the play up the ice and generate shots, which can only benefit the Sabres. If Buffalo wants to score more goals, they need to create traffic in front of Jakub Dobes and take shots from the point. This could be another night of high-volume shots for Dahlin.
- Rasmus Dahlin OVER 2.5 Shots on Goal (-125 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
