🔥 Montreal Canadiens vs Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction

Game 5 is crucial for both teams. The Canadiens had an opportunity to take a 3-1 series lead in the last game but squandered a 2-0 advantage. With Tampa Bay being a seasoned team, you can never count them out. It's essential to remain focused for a full 60 minutes and minimize mistakes.

Montreal has performed well on the road this season and has already defeated Tampa at home. There are rumours that Martin St-Louis will be making some lineup changes, but it may be difficult to determine what those are before puck drop. It's well-known that the top six forwards have struggled to produce offense at five-on-five, and that needs to improve. This matchup is expected to be close, but the Canadiens have not yet reached their peak, while the bottom six players have been exceptional. I might sound biased, but I believe the Canadiens will win.

🏅Goalie of the Day: Carter Hart - VGK

Carter Hart's performance in the postseason hasn't been perfect, but he remains the best goalie option available. With the series tied at two, Vegas returns home and aims to secure a win tonight. While Utah has some skilled players up front, Vegas has shown that it can defend well. Hart doesn’t need to be exceptional; he just has to perform his duties effectively.

🏅Honourable Mention: Jakub Dobes - MTL

I refuse to pay a premium for Andrei Vasilevskiy, as he often struggles to provide value even when he secures a win. The Canadiens have performed well defensively in this series, but Tampa Bay still generates a lot of shots, so Dobes might face a heavy workload. He will need to step up for his team to secure a victory. Additionally, there's a good chance this game could go to overtime, which typically gives goalies better value.

🏅Skater of the Day: Brandon Hagel - TBL

I find it frustrating how well Brandon Hagel has performed in this series. His energy and scoring ability on the power play really annoy me. However, he does lead the playoffs in goals, so we can't overlook him. Although his shot volume isn't high, he will need to find a way to contribute to the scoresheet to justify his price tag. If anyone can achieve that, it's definitely him.

🏅Honourable Mention: Porter Martone - PHI

It took a few weeks, but Porter Martone is officially at $6K on DraftKings! Although he has gone without a point in the last two games, he has demonstrated the ability to go to tough areas on the ice and shoot the puck. The Flyers need their rookie to deliver results, and he is more than capable of rising to the challenge.

🏅Value Play of the Day: Josh Anderson - MTL

Josh Anderson has reminded everyone that he is built for the playoffs. He scored two goals in the first two games of the series but did not contribute any points in the subsequent two games. With Montreal lacking last change, Anderson and his linemates may face tougher matchups, but they are capable of holding their ground. Additionally, Josh is receiving a healthy amount of ice time, which helps keep his performance consistent. He doesn’t need to do much to achieve value in fantasy, but he must contribute more than zero fantasy points.
