🔥 Anaheim Ducks vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction

As the series moves to California, the Anaheim Ducks are poised for a significant advantage. They performed well on the road, winning a game and scoring 8 goals, but they have historically been much stronger at home. The Oilers are struggling in goal, and as usual, their defense is subpar. One player who is benefiting from this weak defense is Leo Carlsson.

Carlsson currently leads the playoffs in shots on goal per 60 minutes (SOG/60) with an impressive rate of 19.29. The next closest player is Reilly Smith at 15.84, followed by his teammate Cutter Gautheir at 14.04. It's unclear when he became such a prolific shooter, but we're certainly excited to see it. He should encounter favorable matchups and continue to take advantage of Edmonton's defensive weaknesses.

 

 

 

🏒Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

🏅Goalie of the Day: Carter Hart - VGK

There aren't many quality goalies to choose from in this slate, so we need to target the one with the most upside. Utah will be hosting its first playoff game in franchise history, so the atmosphere will be electric. On the other hand, Vegas is a veteran team that won’t be overwhelmed by the moment. Carter Hart has played well down the stretch and should continue to benefit from a favorable matchup. While he may not face a high number of shots, he has a good chance of delivering value.

🏅Honourable Mention: Jakub Dobes - MTL

The series has shifted to Montreal, where the Canadiens are expected to be energized. They showed some inexperience in the last game, finishing scoreless in overtime before losing. Jakob Dobes has performed well in this series and will need to maintain that level of play tonight against a Tampa Bay team that ranks in the top five for goals scored on the road. If Dobes can limit Tampa Bay to two goals or fewer and potentially force overtime, he stands a good chance of providing value, even without securing a win.

🏅Skater of the Day: Cutter Gauthier - ANA

We can't overlook Cutter Gauthier tonight. As mentioned earlier, the Ducks performed significantly better on home ice during the regular season, and Gauthier should benefit from a favorable matchup. Connor Ingram isn't playing at his best, and once again, the Oilers have difficulties in their defense. This is an excellent opportunity for Gauthier to make an impact on the score sheet, ideally more than once.

🏅Honourable Mention: Connor McDavid - EDM

Connor McDavid has yet to register a point in this series, but it's unlikely that will continue for long. He's logging significant ice time, and perhaps the pressure will ease since this is an away game. The Oilers need their captain to step up, so if you’re open to taking a risk, now might be the ideal time. Additionally, we could see him with lower ownership than usual.

🏅Value Play of the Day: Lane Hutson - MTL

We don’t typically refer to Lane Hutson as a value play due to his elevated price tag, but he’s listed at just $5,100 on DraftKings tonight, which feels like a steal. He’s been averaging over 30 minutes of ice time per game in this series, and he’s starting to increase his shot attempts. While Hutson isn't usually a high-volume shooter, he does possess that capability. Given his significant ice time, he is also likely to block shots. There are various ways for him to deliver value, which is our main focus.
