🔥 Anaheim Ducks vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction

Many people will be betting on this game, and for good reason. There’s a lot of elite skill on the ice combined with below-average goaltending, which means plenty of goals are likely to be scored. While most people are focused on the over, I would like to draw attention to the in-regulation Puck Line.

Over the last few seasons, the Oilers have struggled to open a series, posting a 1-7 record in their last eight games. However, the Anaheim team has also been underwhelming on the road, and Lukas Dostal has not performed well in goal. Edmonton finished in the top five in home goals scored, and its power play remains highly effective. Leon Draisaitl's return to the lineup will not only provide an offensive boost but also enhance their defence, as he is an excellent two-way forward.

We've seen coaches willing to pull their goalies early when trailing in the third period, so if we need an empty-net goal, that could very well happen. Ideally, the Oilers will handle their business without needing any dramatic comebacks.

🏒Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

🏅Goalie of the Day: Jesper Wallstedt - MIN

Jesper Wallstedt is set to make his second start of the series, hoping to build on the momentum from Game 1. While Dallas boasts a strong offense, their goaltending has not met expectations. Wallstedt is likely to face a fair number of shots, which should help maintain a solid performance. The total for this game is set at 5.5, indicating that Vegas anticipates a low-scoring matchup. If both teams tighten up defensively, we might even see some overtime. I believe Wallstedt offers great value at his current price point.

🏅Honourable Mention: Linus Ullmark - OTT

This is a risky move, but it could pay off tonight. Linus Ullmark wasn't bad in Game 1; he just didn’t receive any support from his offense. Ottawa needs to improve its efforts to get to the net and establish a presence in front of Frederik Andersen, who secured the win but wasn't truly tested. I'm not counting on him having another easy game. Carolina is capable of firing shots on goal, so Ullmark's performance floor will be high. He could still provide value even if he doesn’t earn the win. He’s an excellent candidate for any GPP lineup.

🏅Skater of the Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

Even with Draisaitl potentially back in the lineup, Connor McDavid is my go-to elite forward on the slate. He can carry this entire team on his back and provide a ton of offence, which he may need to do if Connor Ingram isn’t up to par. The Anaheim blue line has some savvy veterans, but the team’s core is young, and most of those kids are heading to the playoffs for the first time. If McDavid smells blood, he’s going to pounce on it. Edmonton’s power play can also be lethal, and with a 6.5 total, don’t be shocked if McJesus hits multiple points before the second period is even over.

🏅Honourable Mention: Andrei Svechnikov - CAR

Not enough people are talking about how dominant Andrei Svechnikov was in Game 1. He finished with six shots on goal and a whopping eight hits. Carolina’s top line was a force, generating a total of 17 shot attempts against an above-average Sens defence. He’s $6K on DraftKings and is worth every dollar. If his shot volume stays consistent, he has a chance to hit value without needing multiple points or a goal.

🏅Value Play of the Day: Porter Martone - PHI

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but Porter Martone needs to be in your lineup whenever the Flyers are playing. He had just one shot in Game 1, but it found the back of the net. The kid continues to score goals and be a key player. His price is still reasonable, too. While he may not take many shots, his determination to get to the net and capitalize on his opportunities is enough for me to include him as a key player in my roster.
