🔥Vancouver Canucks vs San Jose Sharks Prediction

It’s been a season to forget for the Vancouver Canucks. They are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings and are just trying to finish this disappointing year. The San Jose Sharks still have a chance to make the playoffs, but three losses in their last four games have significantly hurt their chances. We should expect a very motivated Sharks team right from the puck drop, as they cannot afford to lose this game. Vancouver has lost nine consecutive matchups against Pacific Division opponents and has failed to cover the Puck Line against San Jose in their last seven meetings.

🏅Goalie of the Day: Jakub Dobes - MTL

Consistent goaltending can make a significant difference for a hockey team, as we’ve seen with the Edmonton Oilers. Jakub Dobes will be in goal against the Blue Jackets, and he has won his last seven starts, allowing two or fewer goals in five of those games. Columbus needs to win this match to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, but Dobes has demonstrated that he can handle a heavy workload while still performing at a high level. He is clearly a top option in all formats.

 

🏅Honourable Mention: Connor Hellebuyck - WPG

The goalie options for this slate are lacklustre, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find some value. The Winnipeg Jets are still competing for a playoff spot, and Connor Hellebuyck will play a significant role in determining whether they make it. Although this hasn’t been his best season, we know what he is capable of. The Flyers have been scoring more goals lately, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we will see a high-scoring game. Both teams will likely focus on securing the neutral zone, which could result in a low-scoring match that may require overtime. This scenario could work in the U.S.-born goaltender's favour.

 

🏅Skater of the Day: Macklin Celebrini - SJ

As mentioned earlier, the San Jose Sharks desperately need a win. Macklin Celebrini has been nothing short of excellent this season, and he will be relied upon tonight to drive the offence. The Canucks have below-average goaltending, allow numerous quality chances, and have a subpar penalty kill. Celebrini is going to have a significant number of opportunities to find the back of the net, so hopefully, one or two will cross the goal line.

 

🏅Honourable Mention: Cole Caufield - MTL

Cole Caufield finally joined the exclusive 50-goal club on Thursday. However, if you think he’s going to relax now, you’re mistaken. With some pressure lifted, his teammates won’t feel the need to force him the puck, which means defenders will have to respect all the players on the ice. He’s been shooting frequently, but he needs to convert those opportunities into goals to maintain his value. If anyone can do it, it’s Mr. Saturday Night.

 

🏅Value Play of the Day: Porter Martone - PHI

We're holding onto Porter Martone until his price reaches $6,000 on DraftKings. After another impressive performance where he scored two points and had three shots on goal, his price only increased by $200. He has provided the Flyers' offence with a much-needed spark. His shot volume is significantly above average, and there's little reason to think it will decrease. Make sure to include him in your lineup as a single option and move forward.
