NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/10

Nashville Predators vs New York Rangers Prediction

The New York Rangers are so bad on home ice, I’m starting to feel sorry for them. Fans pay a ton of money not just to watch them lose, but to see them score ZERO goals. They are going to win at some point, but that might not happen tonight.

The Nashville Predators aren’t very good, but they don’t deserve to be heavy underdogs. They are missing their captain, Roman Josi, but the rest of that squad is pretty healthy. This will be a low-scoring affair, but we have to keep riding this Rangers at home losing train.

Goalie of The Day: Juuse Saros - NSH

Does this feel like a trap? Absolutely. We know the Rangers can’t score at home, but Nashville isn’t much better. Saros has decent numbers on the season, but they are nowhere near elite. We get him at a discount on DraftKings at $7200, so we should expect this to be a popular play. I’m going to trust the math here, and it says he’s worth starting in all formats.

Player of The Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

The Edmonton Oilers got embarrassed on home ice by the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, and Connor McDavid has had enough. He was seen at practice having an “intense” conversation with Evan Bouchard about how the power play should be run. A mad McDavid is a good McDavid, so you know he’s going to come out for this game and be unstoppable. Once he really gets going, nothing can stop him. He has 22 points on the season, so it’s not like he’s a bum. He just needs to start shooting the puck more, and I expect to see that against a Columbus team that allows too many shots against.

Value Play of The Day: Matt Savoie - EDM

Sticking with the Oilers, Matt Savoie is going to be the ultimate boom-or-bust play. He has two points on the season, but with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on IR, a spot on the top power play unit has opened up, and Savoie is going to get the first chance to leave his mark. He’s also skating with McDavid on the top line, so he’s going to get a real boost in ice time. He’s $2500 on DK, so if he goes off, the upside will be through the moon.
