Los Angeles Kings vs. Vegas Golden Knights

The Los Angeles Kings are playing their second game in as many nights and have a difficult matchup against the Golden Knights. Vegas is opening its season and has a new toy in its lineup: Mitch Marner. The former Leaf is going to make an already dynamic offence that much more dangerous.

If you didn’t watch Brian Dumoulin and Cody Ceci last night play, let me sum it up for you quickly-- #NotGood. We knew that pairing was going to struggle, and the Avalanche wasted no time proving that theory. That pairing is going to be on the ice, and we hope that Marner will join them. Vegas’ top line can play in every situation, and Marner is an elite setup man. We’ll take him to pick up an assist in his home debut.

Goalie of The Day: Logan Thompson - WSH

It’s no secret that the Boston Bruins are going to struggle this year. Outside of David Pastrnak, there’s nobody else who can score goals at a high level. The Capitals group comes back mostly intact, and this is a smash spot for Logan Thompson. He’s a very safe cash game option, and you could make are argument for him in GPPs.

Player of The Day: Leon Draisaitl - EDM

We may never see Leon Draisaitl at this price again. DraftKings has him at just $8000 tonight, which is a crazy discount. The Flames are a very good defensive team, but matchups don’t matter when you’re name is Leon. Connor McDavid isn’t a bad choice, but we can find decent value down the middle. We’ll look to target Draisaitl and for him to hit value.

Value Play of The Day: Ivan Demidov - MTL

Listen, if you’re new around here, I’m warning you-- Ivan Demidov is going to be in the Playbook A LOT! The rookie has so much elite skill, no one can stop him. He’s a kid, but Montreal knows what they have, and Martin St. Louis is going to put him in spots to have success. He’s skating on the second line and the second power play unit. The Leafs are always a tough opponent, but Demidov is a gamebreaker, and he’s under $5K on DK. If you want just a small piece of Montreal, this is the route to take.
