NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 5/30
Maple Leafs vs. Senators Prediction: Thursday, May 1st
The question on everyone's minds heading into this Game 6 is will the Maple Leafs blow yet another series in which they lead handily. While I have my thoughts on the topic I will pass them by in favor of another wager that is far more sensible given the trends of the series.
The offenses for both teams just haven't got going this series as its been one of the lowest scoring through 5 games with just 31 goals per game. Most of that damage was Game 1 also that featured 8 goals and since then the goalies have locked back in and I think they carry the game tonight between Anthony Stolarz and Linus Ullmark. Give me the under of 5.5 goals as Ottawa has figured out playing defense first can advance the series and the Maple Leafs are going to be so nervous they won't push the agenda either.

Stars vs Avalanche Prediction: Thursday, May 1st
Going into this series I was dead set on the idea that this matchup would go the distance to 7 games and dammit I still feel that way! These are 2 of the 3 best teams in the NHL for my money and its a shame they are facing off already but that's the way the stupid playoff format goes.
By now you've figured out if I think the series goes 7 games then you know I am picking the Avalanche to win tonight. I like them for many reasons that include their track record on home ice this season and playoffs and the fact that their goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood is actually outplaying star goalie Jake Oettinger on the Dallas side. Colorado is also dominating 5 on 5 this series with a expected goals share of 54.07% which is 4th in these playoffs and the Stars sit all the way down at 45.93% in 13th. If Colorado can just stay out of the penalty box they will win this game and do so in regulation so we can cash some better odds.
- Avalanche 60-Minute Money Line (-125 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks
Goalie Of The Day: Filip Gustavsson - MIN
Is it a little crazy to play a goalie for a team that's an underdog? That may be the case but in a small slate you must take some risks and I think win or lose Gus is going to have an awesome game tonight. Its a must win game so the back to wall mentality will take over for the Wild and they've been in every single game this series losing in OT a couple of times now. This has been a tight series and I think it stays that way tonight from a big game from the Wild goaltender.
Player Of The Day: Nathan MacKinnon - COL
Arguably the best player in the postseason could be out the door tonight with a loss so let's get him in the lineup while he's still here! MacKinnon has been awesome this series with 5 goals and 2 assists to go along with a litany of shots on goal and I don't think he will be slowing down in front of the home crowd. 53 goals, 68 assists in 93 career playoff games for this guy, get out of the way Dallas!
Value Play Of The Day: Matthew Knies - TOR
Value plays tonight should come from either the Maple Leafs or Golden Knight in my opinion as they're both great teams and they have cheaper players going big minutes. That's Knies for me tonight as he's averaged around 20 mins of total ice time in this series and he has 3 goals in the series so far. The shots on goal floor could be higher but for a guy that plays the top line with Matthews at this price point he's a must play for me.
