NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 4/25

 

Stars & Wild Prediction 

This was a series almost universally predicted to go 7 games as the teams are so evenly matched and know each other quite well. Through the opening 3 games I see no reason to change that narrative as outside the Game 1 blowout its been tight out there and every goal has been tough to come by.

Minnesota is again at home tonight for Game 4 and I can't shake the feeling that they're going to win this game and its gut feeling mixed with stats. The Wild have had better goaltending so far with Wallstedt saving 0.199 goals above expected per 60 mins where as Oettinger is actually in the red at -0.626! Then there's the teams in the front of the netminders where Minnesota has dominated at even strength with 6 goals scored and only 3 given up. That means the Stars are generating only 1 goals per game without the powerplay, that would make me nervous! 

Given all of that and a home game I have to take the Wild Money Line to even the series, its what the hockey fans want and deserve!

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day - Linus Ullmark - OTT

The Senators may be going home today but I will scream from the rooftops that its not Ullmark's fault one bit! He has been the best goalie in the playoffs in terms of goals saved above expected at 5.3 over 3 games and his save percentage is sitting at .933 for the series! The Hurricanes are going to give him hell for sure but the fact they are a high volume team makes Ullmark the highest ceiling play on the slate if he can lock it down again and maybe even win!

Player of The Day: Matt Boldy - MIN

It could be Kaprizov here as well but I just like Boldy's game against a rough and tumble Stars roster a bit more here. He has 4 points through 3 games in the series and has posted at least 10.5 DFS points in each game thus far. In addition to that he has 17 shots on goal so the production has a nice steady floor. In the matchup is tough but he's a great power forward to lean on for our lineups today. 

Value Play of The Day: Egor Chinakhov - PIT

Last call on the Penguins tonight in all likelihood as they've gotten clowned by the Flyers this postseason. I do like the spot for Chinakov though as he's finally back on his line with Evgeni Malkin and Tommy Novak which produced some big goals for him. The Penguins I hope fight like hell with their season on the line but regardless at 4.7k as a goal scoring threat he can be a play in lineups today.
