NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 4/4

 

Jets & Blue Jackets Prediction 

It was just last weekend I was writing about the surging Blue Jackets but now with just 2 weeks left in the regular season they are on the outside looking in for the playoffs on the heels of a five game losing streak. There is some hope though as they return home to take on the Jets and they're a team they should beat and must defeat. 

Over the past 10 games the Blue Jackets have lost true but their defense is still playing well at even strength. They've allowed just 1.3 goals per game which is the 2nd best mark in the NHL and the offense has floated over 2 goals a contest. On the Winnipeg side their offense has collapsed scoring just 1.7 even strength goals during the last 10 and that's the 5th lowest mark in the league. The Jets are also 14-23 straight up on the road this season so I am going to put my money behind the Blue Jackets turning things around if just for today.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day - Karel Vejmelka - UTA

There's not a goalie on the slate with more win potential than Vejmelka as the Mammoth take on the Canucks. Vancouver is 8-30 on home ice this season and they're scoring 1.6 goals per game at even strength over their last 10 heading into tonight. This puts the Utah goalie in the drivers seat and although he may be a popular play I just can't fade him in a game like this where there could be shutout potential. 

Player of The Day: Macklin Celebrini - SJ

There are tons of star players on the slate tonight and if you go a different way I don't think that's a bad idea at all but I'm locked in on Celebrini and this Sharks vs. Predators game. I believe this matchup has the potential to be the highest scoring on the slate and the books agree juicing up the over on the 6.5 total. The Predators allow the 6th most DFS points per game to centers on the season and Celebrini is coming off a 4-game stretch that saw him score 5 goals and pot 5 assits as well. Its going to be an up tempo game and I need this piece of it tonight. 

Value Play of The Day: Steven Stamkos - NSH

Same idea as Celebrini here but I am stacking Sharks and Predators in a big way! The Sharks are allowing 2.7 even strength goals per game the 2nd most in the NHL over the past 10 games! In addition to that they allow the 3rd most DFS points on the season to left wingers and Stamkos has had a revival season with 37 goals. At 5.4k over on DraftKings that's a steal of a price so jump on board here.
