NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 3/19

Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction

Remember when these two teams faced off in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals? Now, there’s a real possibility that both teams might miss the playoffs. The Oilers need to string together some wins, especially since they're currently without Leon Draisaitl. It will be a challenge, but they must capitalize on games against teams behind them in the standings. The Panthers are struggling with injuries, and Sergei Bobrovsky has a low save percentage of .872 on the road. We can expect plenty of scoring chances for both sides, but the Oilers are the healthier team, so we should trust them to secure the win.

New York Rangers vs Columbus Blue Jackets Prediction

The New York Rangers are facing the difficult challenge of playing the second game of a back-to-back series, which could make for a tough night. Jonathan Quick had an outstanding performance yesterday, but the Rangers still lost 6-3. Unfortunately, the team seemed to lack motivation. With nothing significant to fight for, it's understandable why they appear disinterested. On the other hand, the Columbus Blue Jackets are still vying for a divisional spot, so every win is crucial for them. We can expect Columbus to come out strong and take control of the game right from the beginning.

Goalie of the Day: Andrei Vasilevskiy - TBL 

It's difficult to overlook Andrei Vasilevskiy when his matchup looks exceptional on paper. The Canucks struggle to score and have a poor home record. While Vasilevskiy's salary is high, no goalie has a better chance of securing a win than he does. If you can fit his salary into your budget, he’s the top choice for cash games.

Honourable Mention: Alex Lyon - BUF

The Buffalo Sabres are on an impressive run that seems to have no end in sight. Alex Lyon has been confirmed as the starting goalie, and he is currently riding a five-game winning streak, boasting strong overall statistics. While the Sharks are capable of scoring goals, the Sabres have been performing well defensively, which enhances Lyon's value. With his potential for further success, he is a solid choice for all fantasy formats.

Player of the Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

I'm not sure how we're going to handle Connor McDavid tonight. The Oilers' captain will need to step up and carry his team if they want to make the playoffs, and he's more than capable of doing so. Unfortunately, the Panthers lack the depth to slow him down, and Bobrovsky might struggle significantly. Tonight could be an opportunity for McDavid to rack up multiple points.

Honourable Mention: Nikita Kucherov - TBL

If you’re considering fading McJesus, it’s because you want to go with Nikita Kucherov. He’s having another outstanding season and recently had a five-point game against Seattle. Now he’s up against the Canucks, who have a struggling defence and weak goaltending. Kucherov already has 64 points on the road and should be able to add to that total before the season ends.

Value Play of the Day: Matt Savoie - EDM

Matt Savoie’s price has surged over the past week, and for good reason. He’s currently priced at $4,400 on DraftKings, which is still affordable for roster inclusion. Savoie has now scored in three consecutive games and is being given time on both the top line and the top power-play unit. He doesn't need to do much to deliver value, but he has the potential for a great performance tonight.
