NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 3/18

 

Senators vs. Capitals Prediction 

As teams in the East keep winning around them the urgency is paramount for Ottawa right now to stay in the playoff race. I am counting on that narrative to be the driving force tonight as the Senators have won 7 of their last 10 games and are hosted by a Capitals team that sold at the deadline and are now out of the playoff race. Ottawa holds an edge on most fronts tonight as their defense has allowed just 1.4 goals per game which is the 3rd fewest in the NHL over the past 10 games while they score 2.3 per game giving them plenty of runway to play their game. The Capitals also play above average defense but their scoring has dipped recently to just 1.9 goals per game. I imagine the Senators play with more to lose and their goaltending from Linus Ullmark gets them over the hump so give me the Senators on the Money Line tonight.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day - Lukas Dostal - ANA

It looks like this could be a good slate for goalies tonight with some juice on some unders but I really like the spot for Dostal tonight. The Flyers offense has been severely lacking in the past 10 games scoring just 2.1 goals per game in all situations and they want to play a slower paced game it seems. Dostal has won 8 of his last 10 starts and that'll give us a leg up in the lobbies tonight. 

Player of The Day: Jack Hughes - NJD

The Devils has once against faltered in the 2nd half of the season but the matchup between them and the Rangers figures to be a higher scoring one and we will need a big piece of it! Hughes fills that need coming off of a 3 game run where he has 6 points and 2 goals to go along with 11 shots on goal. He is priced up but not too high so fit him into your plans for tonight's slate.  

Value Play of The Day: Dylan Holloway - STL

The Blues being sellers on the deadline was not fun for the fans but it has opened up some room for others to produce. Holloway is one of those names as he has 9 points over his last 6 games and has been getting production shooting the puck on net as well. The Flames also allow the 5th most DFS points to left wingers on the season so at 6.1k Holloway is a value to me and he is going into lineups.
