NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 3/1

 

Blackhawks vs. Mammoth Prediction 

At one point in the season Chicago was at least competitive but on the heels of the long break it looks like they are in full tank mode. Over their pair of games they've scored just 3 total goals and the offense overall on the road this season has posted 2.61 goals per game on the road. Those numbers are minimal in the face of what the Mammoth are doing lately. They have been one of the best 5 on 5 teams in the league over the past 10 games scoring 2.4 goals per game while allowing 1.4 and they remain one of the leagues best home teams at 18-9-2 on the season. Then there's the goalie matchup that will pit Arvid Soderblom of the Blackhawks with his 3.89 GAA and .873 SV% against Utah's Karel Vejmelka and his 2.8 goals against over his last 10 starts. This one has blowout written all over it and when the price is right a Puck Line bet is the way to go on this heavy favorite.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day - Lukas Dostal - ANA

There are a few good spots for goalie today but I like having the potential night hammer in this slate and I am backing Dostal. Over his last 10 starts he is 5th in the NHL in goals saved above expected at 6.1 and he is saving on average .6 goals per game over expected. That could be huge against a Flames team that doesn't have much offense to speak of and a game that I expect the Ducks to win. He may not see 30+ shots but he's in a great spot to anchor our lineups. 

Player of The Day: Kirill Kaprizov - MIN

The post Olympic break has been a mixed bag so far for Minnesota with a win and a loss but Kaprizov has come to play. He has 3 points in the pair of games out of the break and tonight he will face a Blues team that is giving up on the season being all but eliminated from contention at this point. Blues also allow the 3rd most DFS points to wingers on the season so pay up for the star power today. 

Value Play of The Day: Cole Perfetti - WPG

Highest scoring game on the slate could come from this showdown between the Sharks and Jets so I am going to need a piece of it. Perfetti provides a value stake in the game at just 4.9k and plays on the top powerplay unit so there is some exposure to the star players without breaking the bank. Not to mention he's played well in the pair of games out of the break with 3 points and 8 shots over 2 contests. Tremendous bargain on Perfetti in DFS tonight going against the 3rd softest team in the league against left wingers.
