NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 12/07

Chicago Blackhawks vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction

The Chicago Blackhawks are playing the tail end of a back-to-back and their third game in four nights. They were flat against the Kings, losing 6-0, and now face the top team in the Pacific Division. The Ducks are missing two goalies, and Ville Husso just isn’t getting the job done. They’ll need to come out strong (no pun intended) and score early and often. We predict they’ll win in regulation.

Goalie of the Day: Logan Thompson - WSH

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Logan Thompson provided good value against Anaheim despite not getting the win. He made 35 saves and carried his team into overtime. The goalie pool today isn’t great, so I’ll gladly pay up for Thompson and avoid overpaying for a bad goalie.

Honorable Mention: David Rittich - NYI

The Florida Panthers conceded six goals to the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday and now face the New York Islanders, who are quite a strong team. David Rittich is having a great season, but his road stats aren’t impressive. That said, it’s a small sample size and he has a chance to achieve value. If you’re feeling confident, Rittich is a reliable GPP choice.

Player of the Day: Jason Robertson - DAL

At this point, Jason Robertson is matchup-proof. He’s going out there most nights and finding the net. Dallas’s red-hot power play definitely boosts his success, but Robertson is just showing the league that he can score at an elite level, so if you’re thinking of fading him— good luck.

Honorable Mention: Cole Caufield - MTL

I’ll be exposed to a lot of Montreal tonight because the St. Louis Blues are nothing but frauds. Cole Caufield is an elite goalscorer, and I won’t let anyone tell me otherwise. It’s not just the goals; he’s also racking up plenty of assists. He’s on a 10-game point streak and has a great chance to extend it tonight.

Value Play of the Day: Juraj Slafkovsky - MTL

Sticking with Les Canadiens, Juraj Slafkovsky is on a hot streak, but DraftKings hasn’t recognised it. He’s on a five-game point streak and has played over 20 minutes in three consecutive games. Martin St-Louis trusts Slafkovsky in key moments, so he’s getting more ice time. His shot volume can be inconsistent, but he's producing points and delivering value.
