NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 12/27

 

Wild vs. Jets Prediction 

Two of the league's most talented defensive teams are going head to head tonight and it could spell yet another low scoring game for each team. The Jets on the outside for box score readers seem to have allowed more than their fair share but since Connor Hellebuyck has returned they've given up just 12 goals over 5 games. On the flip side Minnesota has been the best in terms of goals against at 2.3 over the past 10 games. That makes this one, especially after a holiday break awfully appealing to bet the under on. Players with be rusty and jet lagged from wherever home for the holidays was to them so the number of 6 goals just seems like too many today.

Goalie of The Day - Logan Thompson - WSH

The Capitals are running a bit cold right now but I am thinking the holiday break will break whatever funk they were in. They'll play the Devils tonight a team that scored just 1.9 goals per game over the last 10 games and that puts Thompson in the drivers seat this slate to have a hell of a day. He has been steady and the price is great on both sites today so lock him into the goalie spot. 

Player of The Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

Oilers are cooking once again with 7 wins in the last 10 games and McDavid is nipping on the heels of Nathan MacKinnon. He had 15 points in the 5 games before the holiday break and now will play a Flames team that is allowing the 2nd most DFS points per game to centers. Fire up McDavid everywhere and don't even worry about the cost, he will pay it off. 

Value Play of The Day: Kevin Fiala - LAK

Its a low key great matchup for the Kings tonight and while most will be on the Ducks I actually like going the other way towards the Los Angeles direction. The Ducks allow the 3rd most points to left wingers on the season and Fiala maintains a great floor option on most slates as well. At 6.4k he isn't the bargain basement play but he does help even things out with all the top tier pricing on the stars today.
