Toronto Maple Leafs vs Dallas Stars Prediction

The Toronto Maple Leafs seem indifferent to winning hockey games. This team's lack of desire to compete is evident on the scoresheet. They frequently get outplayed, their offense is struggling, and their top players appear disconnected. After losing 5-3 to Nashville last night, the Leafs are now heading to Dallas to face the Stars. Dallas possesses a top-five power play, bolstered by their dynamic offense, and the Leafs will likely struggle to contain them. We can expect the Stars to secure a convincing victory.

Goalie of the Day: Jonathan Quick - NYR

Jonathan Quick has a 3-4-1 record this season, but he boasts an impressive 1.88 goals against average (GAA) and a .932 save percentage (SV%). His numbers improve even further on the road. The Rangers struggle at home but become an elite team on the road. Nashville will be playing their second game in as many nights, and there’s a good chance we will see Jussi Uronen in goal, who has a record of 1-5-1 with an .859 save percentage. Quick is a solid goalie, so I’m willing to invest in him, but I'm counting on the Rangers to provide him with some offensive support.

 

Honourable Mention: Jesper Wallstedt - MIN

Starting a goalie against the Colorado Avalanche may not seem like a smart choice, but hear me out. The Wild have won seven games in a row, and that was even before Quinn Hughes joined the team. Jesper Wallstedt has a record of 10-1-2 this season and is 6-0-2 at home. He's been nothing short of spectacular, so even with back-to-back games and a price of $7,000 on DraftKings, I’m willing to take my chances with him in a GPP. The potential upside is just too high to ignore.

 

Player of the Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

There is no shortage of elite forwards to choose from today, but if I had to pick one, it would start with Connor McDavid. The Oilers captain has recorded 23 points in the last nine games, including three instances of four points in a single game. He’s also starting to shoot the puck more, which keeps his floor extremely high. Additionally, Edmonton is playing the tail end of a back-to-back, and Connor Ingram is expected to start in goal. Ingram has the worst save percentage in the AHL, so the Oilers might find themselves playing catch-up early in the game. I’m more than willing to invest in the best player in the world.

 

Honourable Mention: Jack Hughes - NJ

Guess who's back in the lineup! Jack Hughes has confirmed that he will return tonight, and Devils fans are thrilled. Hughes is an elite playmaker who has a knack for scoring goals. The Devils have put together five consecutive wins, but don't be misled into thinking they are a strong team overall. New Jersey is the superior team, and that will be evident on the ice. If we’re lucky, not everyone will hear about Jack's return, giving us the chance to have him at low ownership.

 

Value Play of the Day: Josh Anderson - MTL

Josh Anderson scored two goals last night, prompting DK to lower his price back to $2,500. While he may not be the prolific goalscorer he once was, he has recorded three points in his last three games and is proving to be relevant again. He is getting a decent amount of ice time, and the Penguins are allowing a lot of goals. If you're looking for a budget option to help you fit in an extra superstar, he could be a good choice to consider.
