NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 12/1

 

Ducks vs. Blues Prediction 

We are now into December, and the Ducks are still flying high and in first place in the Pacific Division! The young crop of offensive talent is the biggest boost in the resurgence of the franchise and tonight they will be licking their chops against this Blues team. On the season the Blues allow 3.42 goals per game, the 7th highest mark in the NHL. That's bad news considering the Ducks score 3.6 goals per game the 2nd most in the league. The splits go the other way as well though as the Ducks offense has to keep pace with their poor defense that gives up 3.32 goals per game and 3.6 expected goals per game. These numbers set up a likely potential for a high scoring contest and with the total sitting at 6 goals and the Ducks having gone over their total in 15 of 25 games this season I am inclined to follow the trends and take the over tonight.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day - Dan Vladar - PHI

This is not a good slate to be a goalie and in the words of Chris Morais they are VOODOO! Dan Vladar gets the nod tonight though as we must play someone and he's at home with a team that's favored. The Flyers goalie is 10-4-1 on the season with a 2.43 GAA and .912 SV% and is behind a team that is surging right now with the Flyers having won 3 straight games. The Penguins offense is tough to predict as they can pop off but I will take my chances here tonight and hope I am correct. 

Player of The Day: Leo Carlsson - ANA

The Blues have some serious issues on defense this season and if you've been reading my articles then you know I attack them on a nightly basis. The Ducks should be primed for a handful of goals tonight and if they do that it'll be Carlsson at the forefront of the scoring. The young center has 34 points in 25 games this season and the Blues allow the 12th most DFS points to centers so let's lock him in here. 

Value Play of The Day: Nino Niederreiter

This Jets and Sabres game could be the 2nd highest game total on the slate tonight so we are going to need a piece of it. With the top Winnipeg lines focused on Tage Thompson and company I like the depth of the Jets here. Niederreiter has been productive from the 3rd line this season with 6 goals and 15 total points thus far and is on the 2nd powerplay unit. He has 12 shots on goals in the last 5 games and is fresh off a 2 goal game as well, worth a stab at 3.3k over on DraftKings.
