Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook. This is your one-stop shop for everything DFS related for tonight’s 10-game slate. There are a handful of big matchups for some select offenses tonight so those will be the targets in daily fantasy of course. We have some very good matchups to cover, so let’s get into the action.

For the NHL Bets, we are going to start off very slowly. It’s a new year, and things around the league are going to be different. We don’t have stats yet to work with, so most recommendations are going to be educated guesses. Don’t blow your (bankroll) load in the first month of action. NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/4

 

Panthers vs. Ducks Prediction 

While there are plenty of surprising teams in this young season perhaps none are more shocking than the Ducks! They are off to a 7-3-1 start and looking good on offense in the process scoring 3.5 goals per game and holding an expected goals mark of 3.59! That group has helped them overcome their stats of 3.78 expected goals against this season and has also led to some fun games in terms of scoring. In total the Ducks have gone over in 6 of 11 games and this matchup against the Panthers could push another over. Florida is holding down a 3.61 goals expected average on the season and that's the 6th highest in the NHL. They should maintain average tonight in Anaheim, even shorthanded on talent. Give me the over in this contest.

Flyers vs. Canadiens Prediction

Another team that is off to a hot start are the boys from Montreal as they come into tonight at 9-3-0! They are posting big numbers at home this season with 3.8 goals scored and 28 shots per game and they'll get a Flyers team that is having scoring issues right now. On the road the Flyers are scoring 1.67 goals per game and their top names are struggling to get going. Their defense has kept things close but it seems to me this one is going to be too much for them to handle so give me the Habs on the Money Line as they look to improve to 5-1 at home early this season.

Goalie of The Day: Connor Hellebuyck - WPG

As last year's Vezina Trophy winner settles into another season you can see his numbers starting to stabilize a bit. He is now 6-3 with a 2.34 GAA and .922 SV% not great for his standards but great when it comes to the rest of the league! He will face off against the Kings tonight a team that is scoring just 2 goals per game on home ice this season despite averaging over 30 shots per game. That places the Jets goaltender in one of the best spots today for floor and ceiling so he's a must play for me. 

Player of The Day: Nathan MacKinnon - COL

I am thinking that MacKinnon won't be as popular today as usual, although that's a high bar normally but against the Lightning I just like the spot. Both teams have talent to open up the ice and run here and while the Lightning and Avalanche play decent defense the offenses are so top heavy with scoring talent. MacKinnon is averaging 19.1 points per game over on DraftKings and has 19 total points on the season, no brainer for me. 

Value Play of The Day: Gabriel Vilardi - WPG

I am surprised to see a winger on the top line on one of the best teams in the league continually under 6k on DraftKings. His averages of 11.7 DFS points per game isn't stunning but right now he's running hot with 4 goals in the last 3 games and over at least 11 DFS points in 5 straight games. The matchup is a good one with the Kings allowing the 8th most DFS points to right wingers on the season too.
